Cachely is the managed self-hosted remote cache for Nx and Turborepo - the cache backend you'd otherwise build and run yourself, hosted for you on Cloudflare's edge (R2). It's a drop-in replacement for a DIY @nx/s3-cache / S3 bucket setup: point your build tool at Cachely with a token and two environment variables, and share build cache across CI and every developer's laptop.

Unlike a self-hosted cache, Cachely enforces read-only tokens at the API, so pull-request and fork builds can read but never write - closing the Nx cache-poisoning attack (CVE-2025-36852). It adds ROI reporting (the real build minutes and dollars the cache saved), per-tool insights, and build-optimization suggestions on top.

Pricing is a flat per-workspace subscription with no per-seat fees - add every developer, bot, and CI actor without watching the bill. Cachely never stores your source code; it caches only task outputs and their content hashes. Nx and Turborepo today; Bazel on the roadmap.

Legacy Box features and specs

  • Convenient and Easy to Use
Legacy Box provides a simple mail-in process where customers receive a kit, pack their analog media (tapes, film, photos, etc.), and ship it to be digitized. The process requires minimal technical knowledge and is very straightforward.
  • Wide Range of Media Formats Supported
Legacy Box handles a broad variety of legacy media formats including VHS, VHS-C, Hi8, Video8, MiniDV, 8mm film, 16mm film, 35mm slides, photos, and audio cassettes, making it a one-stop shop for digitization needs.
  • Professional Quality Digitization
The company uses professional-grade equipment and trained technicians to digitize media, generally producing higher quality results than consumer-level digitization devices or DIY approaches.
  • Trusted and Established Brand
Legacy Box has been in business for over a decade and has digitized millions of items. They are a well-known and widely recognized brand in the media digitization space, giving customers confidence in their service.
  • Multiple Output Options
Customers can receive their digitized content on USB thumb drives, DVDs, or via digital cloud download, providing flexibility in how they access and store their newly digitized memories.

Possible disadvantages of Legacy Box

  • Expensive Pricing
Legacy Box can be quite costly, especially at full price. Individual items can run $30-$60 each without discounts, making large collections expensive to digitize. While they frequently offer sales (often 50-60% off), the regular pricing is considered high compared to some competitors.
  • Long Turnaround Times
Processing times can be lengthy, often taking 6 to 12 weeks or even longer to receive completed orders. During peak seasons or high-demand periods, wait times can stretch significantly, which frustrates customers eager to see their memories.
  • Risk of Shipping Irreplaceable Media
Customers must mail in their original, often irreplaceable, analog media. Despite safety measures, there is inherent risk involved in shipping precious family memories through the postal system, and there have been occasional reports of lost or damaged items.
  • Limited Customer Service Responsiveness
Some customers have reported difficulty reaching customer support, slow response times, and challenges getting updates on the status of their orders, leading to anxiety when dealing with irreplaceable personal media.
  • Inconsistent Quality Results
While many customers are satisfied, some reviews report inconsistent digitization quality, including issues like color imbalance, audio sync problems, cropped images, or lower-than-expected resolution on certain items, with limited options for corrections.

Cachely.dev features and specs

  • Simplified Caching Setup
Cachely.dev likely offers an easy-to-integrate caching layer that reduces the complexity of manually configuring caching infrastructure, allowing developers to implement caching with minimal setup time.
  • Performance Improvement
By providing a dedicated caching solution, Cachely.dev can help reduce latency and improve application response times, especially for frequently accessed data or API responses.
  • Developer-Focused Design
The .dev domain and branding suggest the product is tailored specifically for developers, potentially offering clean APIs, SDKs, and documentation that fit into modern development workflows.
  • Scalability
As a specialized caching service, it may be built to handle scaling automatically, removing the burden of managing cache infrastructure as traffic grows.
  • Reduced Backend Load
Effective caching can significantly reduce the load on primary databases and backend services, potentially lowering infrastructure costs and improving overall system reliability.
