Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing LaunchDirectories and LaunchRanked.

What makes your product unique?

LaunchDirectories's answer

Because finding the right places to launch your startup shouldn’t be a guessing game.

I built LaunchDirectories.com to make it simple - it’s a curated, searchable list of the best startup directories, complete with real data like domain rating, traffic, and link type. No fluff, just the info you need to get seen and grow.

LaunchRanked's answer:

Most launch platforms give you one big day, a nofollow link and a badge you have to keep on your site, and then nothing. LaunchRanked ties the launch to long-term SEO. Every approved listing gets a permanent, SEO-ready product page and a followed link after a human reviews it. There's no badge requirement, and we never sell links. Around that we offer 92 free SEO and AI-visibility tools, 91 of which work without an account, and Autopilot. Autopilot writes and publishes articles to your CMS, fixes titles using your Search Console data, and tracks whether ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude mention you.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

LaunchDirectories's answer

Because it’s not just a list — it’s a smarter, faster way to find where to launch. Real data, no fluff, always up to date. Built by a founder, for founders.

LaunchRanked's answer:

  • The free launch includes a followed link after a human review, with no badge and no paid link schemes.
  • Your product page is permanent, so it keeps working for you after launch week.
  • The playbook is tested on our own product. On a brand-new domain, Versely went from about 2 Google clicks a day to about 40–75. From Jun 26 to Sep 25, 2026 it got 1.21k clicks and 190k impressions.
  • Pricing is simple and one-time where it can be. Boost is $15 and Featured is $29. Directory submission is done by hand from $79 (30+ directories) and comes with a live-link report. Autopilot is $49/mo at the founding price, with a 7-day trial.
  • We're open about our limits. The domain is new, and our only case study is our own product.

What's the story behind your product?

LaunchDirectories's answer

I shared a simple spreadsheet of launch directories on Reddit — it blew up and got 400+ upvotes. People wanted more: domain ratings, traffic, dofollow links… so I built LaunchDirectories.com. What started as a list became a full tool to help founders launch smarter and save time.

LaunchRanked's answer:

We built Versely, an AI video and content app, on a brand-new domain. Until around August 10, 2026 it got about 2 Google clicks a day.

We then:

  • cleaned up the technical base: canonical URLs, honest sitemap dates, structured data and llms.txt
  • built pages from real data, growing from about 400 to about 2,000 URLs
  • kept rewriting titles on pages already on page 1–2 of Google, which was the biggest win

We also made a mistake: about 2,500 posts in one month, and Google throttled indexing. After that we slowed to about 20 a day. Traffic grew to about 40–75 clicks a day.

LaunchRanked is that playbook turned into a product, with a fair launch board attached, because we kept seeing founders pay for launches that left nothing behind.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

LaunchDirectories's answer

Founders, indie hackers, and marketers who are launching new products and want to get visibility fast — without wasting time on low-quality directories. They care about SEO, backlinks, and getting real traction from day one. Most are solo builders or small teams looking for smart, lean ways to grow.

LaunchRanked's answer:

Indie makers, SaaS founders and small startup teams who have launched, or are about to, and want steady traffic from Google and AI answers afterwards. Most can't afford an SEO agency, and they're tired of launch sites that sell badges and nofollow links.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

LaunchDirectories's answer

We use Next.js for a fast, modern React-based frontend, Supabase for backend and database services, and Tally for handling forms and user submissions smoothly.

LaunchRanked's answer:

TypeScript, React, Next.js (App Router) and Cloudflare D1. The plan points to these through its file paths (src/app/...page.tsx) and its D1 database, but please confirm them, and add anything else you use (hosting, payments, the AI models behind Autopilot).

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

LaunchDirectories's answer

We serve a wide range of startups, indie founders, and marketing teams — from solo builders launching their first product to fast-growing startups looking for smart ways to get noticed.
