The entire course is audio. Nine narrated chapters cover the full Pearson VUE content outline, so studying happens during a commute, a workout or the washing-up rather than at a desk. Competitors offer audio as a supplement to a video or textbook course; here it is the primary format, and the app installs as a PWA so chapters can be downloaded and played without a connection. The question bank uses spaced repetition: answers you get wrong come back automatically, ones you have mastered fade out.

Because of what it deliberately is not. LanePrep is exam prep only — it is not a state-approved pre-licensing course and does not satisfy Texas's 40-hour requirement. That narrower scope is why it costs $14.99 a month or $79 once, against $139–$349 for the bundled providers.

Choose it if you want to study hands-free, keep lifetime access instead of a 60–180 day window, and want your money back if you fail. Do not choose it if you still need the regulated pre-licensing hours — in that case take a course and use LanePrep alongside it.

The typical user studies one to three weeks around a job, which is why the format assumes short sessions and dead time rather than long stretches at a desk.

Existing exam prep assumes you can sit at a desk. Most candidates are working adults who cannot — but who spend an hour a day driving. LanePrep was built around that: take the official content outline, turn it into chapters you can listen to, and pair it with a question bank that remembers what you get wrong.

It launched in April 2026 for the Texas Property & Casualty exam, and added Texas Life, Accident & Health. It is solo-founder operated — every chapter is reviewed personally and every support email is answered by the founder.

Next.js with TypeScript and Tailwind CSS, deployed as a static export behind nginx. The backend is FastAPI with SQLite, payments run through Stripe, and email through Resend. Offline support comes from a service worker that caches audio for playback without a connection. Hosted on AWS Lightsail.
