A self storage manager spends 1,900 hours a year doing tasks that Landlord automates. Chasing down late tenants with emails, texts, and calls. Helping tenants move in and move out. Generating accounting reports. All of these are handled by clever automations from Landlord so you can spend 1,900 hours a year growing your operation instead of managing it.

Comes with a free website that grows occupancy. Every self storage website Iโ€™ve ever seen looks the same, and you need a website that ignites fear of missing out in every lead. Within 10 seconds leads should think, โ€œIf I donโ€™t seize the opportunity to rent right now I will regret it severelyโ€. Our customers capture 8-12% of their website leads while most others close only 2-3%. (And youโ€™ll be able A/B test and see the data yourself from within our softwareโ€™s website builder. We tailor each website exactly to what customerโ€™s like you want so youโ€™re not stuck in the same default template as everyone)

Our team has helped owners stop missing out on nearly $1M in revenue from selling tenant protection. Within 2 months our customers usually make ~$8 more per unit per month (it really adds up!) with <1% tenant turnover because tenants feel like they gain something instead of the usual anger of a rent raise. Our veteran support team handles this whole process for you.

Your software shouldnโ€™t feel like buying a cheap suit in small, medium, or large sizes. You should feel like you are working with a world-renowned tailor that makes your shoulders look broad, your facility look incredible, and tenants love renting from you. Last month we updated or added 15 features, 11 of which were directly suggested by our customers to improve their businessโ€™ operations.

React Engine features and specs

  • Isomorphic rendering
React Engine enables both server-side and client-side rendering of React components, providing a seamless isomorphic/universal JavaScript experience. This allows for faster initial page loads and better SEO while maintaining rich client-side interactivity.
  • Express.js integration
React Engine is designed as a view engine for Express.js, making it easy to integrate React into existing Express-based applications with minimal configuration. It follows familiar Express conventions for setting up view engines.
  • Built-in React Router support
The library comes with built-in support for React Router, enabling developers to easily set up server-side and client-side routing without complex manual configuration.
  • PayPal backing
React Engine was developed and maintained by PayPal, which provided credibility and ensured it was battle-tested in a large-scale production environment before being open-sourced.
  • Simplified setup
The library abstracts away much of the complexity involved in setting up server-side rendering with React, reducing boilerplate code and allowing developers to get a universal React application running quickly.

Possible disadvantages of React Engine

  • Abandoned project
The repository appears to be no longer actively maintained, with no recent commits or updates. This makes it risky to use in production as bugs and security vulnerabilities may go unpatched.
  • Outdated dependencies
React Engine was built for older versions of React and React Router. It may not be compatible with modern versions of React (16+, 17, 18) or React Router (v5, v6), limiting its usefulness in current projects.
  • Limited ecosystem support
The library is tightly coupled to Express.js, meaning it cannot be easily used with other Node.js frameworks like Koa, Hapi, or Fastify, reducing its flexibility.
  • Better modern alternatives
Modern tools like Next.js, Remix, and Vite with SSR plugins provide far more comprehensive and well-maintained solutions for server-side rendering with React, making React Engine largely obsolete.
  • Limited documentation and community
The project has relatively sparse documentation and a small community, making it difficult for new developers to troubleshoot issues or find examples and best practices for advanced use cases.

Analysis of React Engine

Overall verdict

  • Unable to verify a project specifically named 'React Engine' on GitHub with confidence, as this does not correspond to a widely recognized or well-documented open-source project that I have reliable information about. There may be multiple small or niche repositories using this name, and quality would vary significantly between them.

Why this product is good

  • React Engine is not a commonly recognized name in the mainstream React ecosystem
  • No verifiable consensus data on stars, maintenance status, documentation quality, or community adoption is available
  • Could refer to a personal project, a boilerplate, a rendering engine, or a niche tool - without more context, its quality cannot be assessed
  • Names like this are sometimes used for student projects, abandoned repos, or experimental tools that lack production readiness

Recommended for

  • Not recommended without further verification
  • Developers should search GitHub directly, check star count, last commit date, open issues, and documentation before adopting
  • Best suited for evaluation on a case-by-case basis rather than a blanket recommendation
  • If you have a specific repository URL, sharing it would allow for a more accurate assessment

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Landlord and React Engine.

What's the story behind your product?

Landlord's answer

When I was 17 I bought my first self storage facility.

I had to convince my Mom that I wasn't an international drug dealer because I was receiving cash and checks in the mail. I had to convince my tenants that the 17 year old calling them wasn't trying to scam them for rent money wasn't a scammer. Lastly, I had to turn around a self storage property with 50% occupancy; no website; paper contracts; and tenants paying with cash and checks. Oh, and still to go to school.

When I looked for storage software, I only found software that helped me run my facility. I didn't have time to run my facility, I needed my software to run my facility for me. So I built the first version of Landlord storage software.

With this software, a reliable handyman on call, and Landlord's customer support agents I automated my facility so that I spent 1 hour a week managing occasional issues.

Now, my facility had 24/7 call answering and an SEO optimized website. I had the software run some promotions and within 3 months my facility went from 50% to 94% occupancy.

Even more mind blowing, after 2 years I sold the facility for double what I bought it for.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Landlord's answer

Self storage owners with 1 to 1000 facilities

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Landlord's answer

Landlord isn't just a self storage software, it's a partnership. We constantly engage with our owners to figure out what their business goals are and make the features they need to succeedโ€“because your wins are our wins.

What makes your product unique?

Landlord's answer

Since 2023 there have been three kinds of self storage software. Storage storage that is hard to use and makes you do all the work. Storage software with "automations" that are hard to setup. And storage software called Landlord.
