I have recently purchased and tried Klack (https://tryklack.com/; I have no relation other than I previously purchased this) and found it to lag significantly as I type so I just tried out Daktilo (which is active as I'm typing this) and found the experience far worse than Klack. I want my mac keyboard to sound like a mechanical keyboard. So instead of buying another keyboard I decided to use this free software called Tickeys, I installed it, and the app is working fine as it should, it is making mechanical keyboard sounds when I type, but when I quit the app, it is still accessing my microphone, I know because of the yellow dot on my mac screen.
