hCaptchaKeePass is ideal for individuals who are technically inclined and appreciate the added security of managing passwords locally. It's also well-suited for users who require a high degree of customization and those who prefer open-source software solutions.
To summarise the process of migrating from reCaptcha to hCaptha:
Here it is my original review
Based on our record, KeePass seems to be a lot more popular than hCaptcha. While we know about 209 links to KeePass, we've tracked only 4 mentions of hCaptcha. We are tracking product recommendations and mentions on various public social media platforms and blogs. They can help you identify which product is more popular and what people think of it.
The official KeePass is https://keepass.info/, with the initial release in 2003! The newest versions are 2.53 and 1.41 (when I wrote this article), released in January 2023 (less than 5 months after the previous release). - Source: dev.to / 9 months ago
I don't get it. The putty website has always been https://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/ This has never changed. Just because someone likes to use short circuit routing in their head doesn't make putty.org the official site for putty. That is the same attitude as telling the Keepass folks that https://keepass.info/ is wrong... - Source: Hacker News / 12 months ago
Https://keepass.info and share the database file on a shared folder or sync it somehow. - Source: Hacker News / almost 2 years ago
And the best part is there are solutions already that do this: https://keepass.info/ Does it work on Android or iOS? - Source: Hacker News / over 2 years ago
The key difference here being that this is two way hashing so passwords can be decrypted. In reality, there are a lot of attack vectors like MITM, event logging or sometimes straight up storing data in plaintext. Through these hackers can generally get passwords of all users of these services. So, why don't people use local password managers? Just a txt file encrypted with "master password" should be pretty... - Source: Hacker News / over 2 years ago
That's it, and HCaptcha will start working. I would imagine it's a better idea to add a specific site exception for hcaptcha.com, and I'm sure I will later, but just really didn't have the patience to do it via screen reader right now. Source: over 3 years ago
Finally, we build a front end with a captcha feature with NextJS and hCaptcha. - Source: dev.to / about 4 years ago
I have Ublock and UMatrix running. Had to whitelist hcaptcha.com and bitwarden.com to get the challenge to pop up. Source: about 4 years ago
First of all, you can stop trolling. It's not about the actual technology, as it may be hcaptcha.com for change or any others like that. It's about not relying on badly aged technology which is only creating problems for users, not for the bots, as this level of noise and numbers/letters is no longer an issue even for javascript-based AI.
