It seems that KDE is fairly consistent in calling this โPlasmaโ and specifically, โPlasma Desktopโ, but English Wikipedia insists on prefixing the names of their products with โKDEโ. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KDE_Plasma https://kde.org/plasma-desktop/ Is this, like, a โGNU/Linux controversyโ thing? - Source: Hacker News / 2 months ago
KDE updates are delivered at the point release stage. Between upgrades, KDE Plasma versions stay frozen (unless you use the Kubuntu Backports PPA). - Source: dev.to / 3 months ago
โPlasmaโ isnโt the name of the television app. Itโs โBig Screenโ. โPlasmaโ just refers to the desktop environment: https://kde.org/plasma-desktop/ So this is a โBig Screenโ UI for KDE Plasma. - Source: Hacker News / 4 months ago

Xfce - Xfce is a lightweight desktop environment for UNIX-like operating systems. It aims to be fast and low on system resources, while still being visually appealing and user friendly.
GNOME - An easy and elegant way to use your computer, GNOME is designed to put you in control and get things done.
KDE neon - KDE neon is the intersection of these needs using a stable Ubuntu long-term release as its core, packaging the hottest software fresh from the KDE Community ovens.
Kubuntu - Linux operating system distribution derived from Ubuntu but with KDE environment.
LXDE - Why will you like it? Less resource needs. You can use it on your less-pricey embedded board or salvaged computer. Component-based design. Don't want something in LXDE, or you don't want to use LXDE but only part of it?
KDE - The KDEยฎ Community is a free software community dedicated to creating an open and user-friendly computing experience, offering an advanced graphical desktop, a wide variety of applications for communication, work, education and entertainment and โฆ
