Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Jira and TaskPal.

What makes your product unique?

TaskPal's answer:

Taskpal is a simple yet powerful alternative to Wunderlist, designed for effortless task management with built-in instant messaging. Unlike many task managers, it offers a seamless experience across all platforms, including macOS, Windows, Linux, iOS, Android, and the web. With an intuitive interface that eliminates clutter, Taskpal makes organizing tasks and collaborating with others incredibly easy. Best of all, itโ€™s completely free, giving users access to all features without any limitations or subscriptions.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

TaskPal's answer:

Taskpalโ€™s primary audience includes individuals and teams looking for a simple, intuitive task management solution without unnecessary complexity. Itโ€™s ideal for professionals, freelancers, and small teams who need an easy-to-use alternative to Wunderlist, with built-in instant messaging for seamless collaboration. Taskpal also appeals to productivity enthusiasts who want a cross-platform app that works effortlessly on desktop and mobileโ€”without the burden of subscriptions or paywalls.

What's the story behind your product?

TaskPal's answer:

We are a team of developers who relied on Wunderlist for years. It was simple, intuitive, and just worked. But after it was acquired and eventually discontinued, we struggled to find a replacement that felt right.

We tried dozens of task managers. Some were too basic, lacking essential collaboration features. Others were overly complex, cluttered with text and overwhelming workboards. None of them struck the right balance.

We envisioned an ideal task managerโ€”one that captured the clean, familiar layout of Wunderlist but included powerful features we always wished it had. So, instead of settling for less, we built our own: TaskPal.
