Overall verdict

  • Barakah.life appears to be a faith-based lifestyle/app platform aimed at helping Muslims build consistent habits around worship and personal development. Without independent, verified reviews or extensive usage data, it's reasonable to consider it a promising but niche tool—good for its intended purpose if it delivers on habit-tracking and community features, but not verified as a top-tier or thoroughly vetted product.

Why this product is good

  • Focuses on Islamic lifestyle and habit-building, filling a niche not well served by mainstream productivity apps
  • Likely includes features like prayer tracking, Quran reading goals, and dua reminders tailored to Muslim users
  • Community or accountability features (if present) can help users stay consistent with religious practices
  • Simple, faith-centered design may appeal to users looking for values-aligned tools rather than generic habit trackers

Recommended for

  • Muslims looking for an app to help track daily worship habits like prayer, Quran reading, and dhikr
  • Users who prefer faith-integrated productivity tools over secular habit trackers
  • People seeking community support or accountability for spiritual growth
  • Individuals new to structured Islamic practice who want gentle reminders and structure

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing JavaScript Operator Lookup and Barakah.

What makes your product unique?

Barakah's answer:

Barakah is the only Islamic app built by a revert specifically for new and practicing Muslims who want a quiet, ad-free experience with every claim properly sourced. Three things set it apart: the 30-day path that takes a new Muslim from shahada to confident daily practice with one short sourced lesson per day; the halal barcode scanner that explains E-numbers rather than just flagging them; and the privacy posture, with no ads, no tracking, no selling of prayer logs, and on-device storage for sensitive data like wealth and journal entries. Madhab-neutral throughout. 10 percent of every subscription goes to verified masjids and the needy.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Barakah's answer:

Competitors like Muslim Pro run ads next to Quranic verses, sell location and prayer data to advertisers, and paywall basic guidance. Barakah does none of those. The free tier is genuinely free with no ads and no upsell pop-ups. Every Islamic claim cites Quran (surah and ayah) or hadith with collection name, number, and grade. The 30-day new Muslim path is not available in any competitor. The halal scanner and zakat calculator with hawl tracking and scholar rulings are practical tools competitors lack. The Family Pack covers four people in one subscription. And 10 percent of Premium revenue goes back to the ummah through verified masjids.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Barakah's answer:

Three primary audiences. First, new Muslims and reverts in their first 30 to 90 days who need a sourced, non-sectarian, ad-free guide through the basics of practice. Second, practicing Muslims globally who want one quiet app for prayer times, qibla, duas, daily verses, and hadith without ads or tracking. Third, Muslim families looking for one subscription that covers everyone (Family Pack covers 4 members) with privacy-respecting tools for kids and parents. Geographically the user base spans the GCC, South Asia, Southeast Asia, Western diaspora communities, and increasingly North America and Europe.

What's the story behind your product?

Barakah's answer:

The founder, Sumit Sharma, reverted to Islam a few years ago. In his first month he kept downloading Muslim apps and uninstalling them. Every one either ran ads next to the Quran, asked for a subscription before he had learned wudu, or pushed one madhab's view as the only correct one. He is a software engineer based in Dubai, so he eventually stopped complaining and started building. Barakah is the app he wished he had found in that first month. Free, sourced to Quran and authentic hadith, madhab-neutral, no ads, no tracking. The 30-day path is the part he is proudest of. 10 percent of every subscription goes to verified masjids and the needy.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

Barakah's answer:

Next.js 16 for the web app at barakah.life. Expo SDK 54 with React Native for the iOS app. Supabase Postgres for the backend and authentication. RevenueCat for subscription management across web and iOS. Resend for transactional email. Anthropic Claude (Sonnet 4.6) powers the Barakah AI assistant. Prayer time calculations use established astronomical algorithms with multiple supported methods (MWL, ISNA, Egypt, Karachi, Umm al-Qura, Tehran, others). On-device data (wealth, journal, muhasaba) is stored in iOS Keychain, never on the server.

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

Barakah's answer:

Barakah is a direct-to-consumer app rather than a B2B product, so its users are individual Muslims and Muslim families rather than corporate customers. Active subscriber base spans the GCC, Western Muslim diaspora, and emerging markets in Southeast Asia.
