Lineage OS isn't officially supported on the FP4, but there are other OSs that are. One is iodéOS (based on Lineage). I have been running it on my FP4 and have no complaints apart from not being able to use the wide-angle camera. Source: over 3 years ago
Yah, there are other competitors out there like Atsanik, e/foundation, Iode, Liberate your tech, and Mamushi that I found. Atsanik, Liberate and Mamushi offer either CalyxOS or GrapheneOS and Iode and e/foundation offer a modded version of Lineage. Source: almost 5 years ago

If you go to the https://android-x86.org website and scroll down a bit one of the tasks they've been working on has been to upgrade to a newer (though still not the newest) kernel. This will have a profound effect on hardware support, but in the meantime many PCs with parts released in the last five years don't work as expected unfortunately. Source: over 3 years ago
The only way to see if Android will run is to try and run it. Start with the newest release from https://android-x86.org, write it to a flash drive with Etcher and try booting it - like GNU/Linux distributions like Ubuntu, Android-x86 has a live mode in which you can test it to see if it boots, and if it does test to see if your hardware all works.
