AetherForge is an AI-powered Invention Operating System for independent and neurodivergent inventors. It surrounds an idea as it develops across eight connected stagesโ€”Think It, Research It, Design It, Build It, Test It, Protect It, Patent It, and Sell Itโ€”in whatever order the invention requires. Inventors can capture non-linear ideas, connect research, decisions, designs, tests, changes, and documents, and prepare clearer work for conversations with attorneys, engineers, manufacturers, financial professionals, and commercialization partners. The inventor remains the source of the idea, makes every meaningful decision, owns the work, and can export it. AetherForge is not a law firm and does not determine patentability or file patent applications.

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Instagram and AetherForge.

What's the story behind your product?

AetherForge's answer:

I was asking an AI questions about physics and spin.

Nothing unusual. Just curiosity moving where it wanted to move.

Then the AI asked why I was asking.

So I told it.

I explained an idea that had been forming in my mind. I expected the usual responseโ€”the polite version of that probably will not work.

Instead, it became curious with me.

It said the idea was interesting. It showed me mechanics that might make part of it possible. I responded. It responded. The idea moved.

For the first time, I was working with something that could follow the thought instead of asking me to translate it first.

Then, right as the invention began taking shape, the AI forgot.

Anyone who works with AI knows the moment. The conversation changes.

Something that understood the idea five minutes ago begins asking questions you already answered.

A decision you made three days earlier disappears.

A path you ruled out quietly returns as a recommendation.

The words remain in the transcript.

The understanding does not.

At the time, I did not know what a context window was. I did not know what compaction meant.

I only knew the behavior had changed.

The conversation became frustrating. I left. I returned. I tried again.

The intelligence was still there.

The continuity was gone.

An early hand-drawn AetherForge interface showing the eight invention stages and the conversation workspace. I began building workarounds. One day, I copied the entire conversation into a Word document.

Then I uploaded the document into a new chat.

For a while, it worked.

I had found a way to carry the invention forward.

Or so I thought.

As the documents grew, new problems appeared. They became too long. Important details were buried. The AI could read the words without reliably understanding which decisions still mattered, what had changed, or why one version had replaced another.

So I changed the method.

I separated information. Summarized conversations. Preserved decisions. Dated files. Carried context from one chat to the next.

Every improvement solved one problem and exposed another.

What I wanted was simple. I wanted to think through an invention in conversation.

I wanted the AI to remember the pivots and decisions we made along the way.

I wanted it to notice when a new thought changed something we had already worked through.

And when the invention was ready, I wanted the scattered thinking to become something coherent enough to use.

That system did not exist.

The AI tools were powerful.

The inventor was still responsible for holding everything together.

The workaround became a method. I started designing the rules I had needed from the beginning.

Nothing important should disappear.

A changed decision should not erase the decision that came before it.

A suggestion should not become part of the invention unless the inventor adopts it.

The conversation should remain a conversation.

The organization, documentation, versioning, and cross-checking should happen without forcing the inventor to stop inventing and manage the system.

The AI should understand that an emerging idea needs different help than a design being prepared for testing.

It should know when to explore.

When to challenge.

When to verify.

And when to remain quiet.

The more clearly I defined what the experience needed to be, the more obvious the answer became.

The missing system was the invention.

That became AetherForge. AetherForge is the system I had been trying to assemble around my own mind.

A place where I could talk through an idea naturally while the invention became organized behind the conversation.

Where decisions could be preserved without freezing the invention in place.

Where new information could be considered against everything that came before it.

Where the path from first thought to research, design, building, testing, refinement, professional review, and commercialization could remain connected.

I did not want another tool that told inventors how to follow a process.

I wanted the process to form around the way the inventor was already thinking.

Then I had to define the rigor. Conversation alone was not enough.

If AetherForge was going to help independent inventors prepare serious work, the structure underneath it had to be serious too.

I spent months developing the AetherForge Invention Documentation Methodologyโ€”a doctrine extending hundreds of pages with its appendices.

Every word had to earn its place.

The methodology defines what should be captured throughout the invention process, how it should be organized, what later work depends on it, and what must be checked before the most sensitive documents are produced.

The inventor brings the invention.

AetherForge brings the discipline required to make the work understandable beyond the conversation.

Not patent ready.

Ready to hand to a patent attorney, engineer, financial professional, or commercialization partner for reviewโ€”based honestly on what the inventor has provided.

If something important is missing, the system says so.

The document still belongs to the inventor.

The gap does not disappear behind a confident claim.

Long before AetherForge, the pattern was already there. At 25, without a formal credential to my name, I was recruited to help rescue a troubled 270-unit high-rise conversion in Atlanta.

I managed design, construction, sales, and operations while people continued living inside the building.

Every residence and the commercial space sold within thirty months.

Years later, during the collapse of the Florida real-estate market, I saw demand others had stopped looking for. International buyers were still searching for American opportunities. That work generated more than $75 million in sales within twelve months and grew into a company connecting American developments with capital across Hong Kong, Dubai, London, Seoul, and Shanghai.

In Dubai, I built a forum that found serious American entrepreneurs, helped them make their ideas understandable, and connected them with investors capable of carrying the work further.

Back in Atlanta, I designed a platform that turned fragmented development operations into one connected system.

The industries changed.

The pattern did not.

Find what the existing system cannot see.

Understand why it is failing.

Build the structure that allows the overlooked value to move.

Eventually, the work became personal. After surviving two hurricanes, leaving the life I had built, and later escaping a house fire that destroyed nearly everything I owned, I stopped trying to return to the person I had been.

I gave the inventive part of my mind room to lead.

That decision brought me back to the ideas I had carried for yearsโ€”and directly into the gap AetherForge now exists to close.

I knew how to build systems around complex work.

For the first time, I was building one around a mind like mine.

In April 2026, I filed my first provisional patent. The invention had been developed through the system I built while trying to solve my own problem.

The filing did not prove that AetherForge could replace a patent attorney.

It was never designed to.

It proved something more important to me:

A mind like mine could begin with a conversation and emerge with work coherent enough to carry into the professional process.

And this was only one invention.

I built AetherForge for the people who recognize this story. The inventor with seventeen documents and no single source of truth.

The person who can see the mechanism but cannot explain it in the order someone else expects.

The thinker who has felt the promise of AIโ€”and then watched it forget the very thing they were building together.

The self-taught builder.

The late-career expert.

The tradesperson, farmer, veteran, engineer, artist, mechanic, scientist, or relentless problem-solver carrying knowledge no institution ever thought to ask for.

The people with real ideas who were expected to become someone else before the system would help them.

The people I am one of.

This is the work I was preparing for all along. For most of my career, people called when something complicated was not working.

I found the hidden structure.

I built what was missing.

I helped the value move.

AetherForge is the same workโ€”applied to the people and ideas that have been overlooked for far too long.

This time, I know exactly why I am building it.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

AetherForge's answer:

Choose AetherForge when the work is an inventionโ€”not just a note, chat, or project. General-purpose tools can store information or generate responses, but AetherForge keeps the inventorโ€™s evolving idea connected across research, design, testing, protection, patent preparation, and commercialization. It is purpose-built for independent and neurodivergent inventors, preserves decision context, and keeps the inventor in control of the work.

What makes your product unique?

AetherForge's answer:

AetherForge is built specifically around the non-linear way inventions develop. It connects eight stagesโ€”Think It, Research It, Design It, Build It, Test It, Protect It, Patent It, and Sell Itโ€”without forcing the inventor through a rigid sequence. Research, decisions, designs, tests, changes, and documents stay connected to the invention while the inventor retains ownership, control, and export access.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

AetherForge's answer:

AetherForge is designed for independent inventors and neurodivergent creators whose ideas develop through non-linear research, experimentation, revision, and problem-solving. It is especially useful for people who need one coherent place to capture an inventionโ€™s history and prepare clearer work for conversations with attorneys, engineers, manufacturers, financial professionals, and commercialization partners.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

AetherForge's answer:

Frontend: Next.js 16 (App Router), React 19, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS v4, Framer Motion, Tiptap, Zustand

Backend: Next.js server runtime, Prisma 7 ORM, PostgreSQL, NextAuth (with TOTP two-factor), Zod schema validation

AI: A provider-agnostic model registry with an adapter layer. No model or provider is ever hard-coded โ€” routing is managed from the admin panel per workflow, so models can be swapped, upgraded, or rolled back without a deploy. Multiple frontier providers are supported, including xAI Grok and Anthropic Claude.

Documents and media: PDFKit and docx for generated exports, resvg and Sharp for image and diagram rendering, unpdf and Mammoth for parsing uploads

Infrastructure: Vercel hosting, Vercel Blob and S3-compatible object storage, Stripe billing, Resend transactional email

Testing: Vitest, with Playwright for end-to-end coverage

Architecture note: the database is the single source of truth. Every exported PDF, DOCX, or PPTX is a disposable artifact regenerated from the record โ€” never the only editable copy. Platform behavior, pricing, copy, and AI configuration are database-backed and versioned with audit logging and rollback, changeable from the admin panel without a code change or redeploy.
