inputprobe DPI Test
ToolsBracker

A browser can't ask a mouse for its DPI, so this test measures it: drag along an object whose size is fixed by international standard (a bankcard is 85.60 mm by ISO/IEC 7810), three passes, median plus spread. Accuracy bands are published from 51 runs on real hardware, and an alignment check...

Features and specs

What each product offers, as listed by its team.

inputprobe DPI Test 5 features
ToolsBracker 5 features
  • Measures, does not guess
A browser cannot ask a mouse for its DPI, so this measures it: you drag the mouse along a reference object of known size and it counts the movement the mouse actually reports over that distance.
  • Standard physical references
Measure against a bank card, whose long edge is 85.60 mm by ISO/IEC 7810, or A4 or US Letter paper at 297 mm and 279.4 mm. The reference is an international standard, so no ruler is involved.
  • Three passes, median and spread
You get the median of three passes plus the spread between them. Passes landing within a percent or two mean the measurement was repeatable; a wide spread means something interfered, and the tool says so.
  • Refuses rather than guesses
When the three passes disagree, no DPI figure is reported. An honest refusal is more useful than a confident wrong number, and the page explains what to change before trying again.
  • Free, local, nothing uploaded
Free and runs entirely in your browser. No account, no signup, no install, and nothing about the measurement leaves your machine.
  • Free Access to Premium Tools
ToolsBracker provides free access to various premium tools and resources that would normally require paid subscriptions, making them accessible to users who may not be able to afford them.
  • Wide Variety of Tools
The platform offers a broad range of tools across different categories such as SEO, design, development, and marketing, serving as a one-stop destination for multiple needs.
  • No Registration Required
Many tools on the platform can be accessed without requiring users to create an account or go through lengthy sign-up processes, making it quick and convenient to use.
  • User-Friendly Interface
The website features a relatively simple and straightforward interface that allows users to find and access tools without much technical knowledge or difficulty.
  • Cost Savings
By providing free alternatives or access to premium tools, users can save significant amounts of money that would otherwise be spent on individual tool subscriptions.

Possible disadvantages

  • Questionable Legality
Offering cracked or unauthorized versions of premium tools raises serious legal and ethical concerns regarding software piracy and intellectual property rights violations.
  • Security Risks
Downloading or using cracked tools from such platforms can expose users to malware, viruses, trojans, and other security threats that may compromise personal data and devices.
  • No Official Support
Since the tools are not obtained through official channels, users cannot access customer support, updates, or bug fixes from the original developers.
  • Unreliable Updates
Cracked tools may not receive timely updates, leaving users with outdated versions that could have security vulnerabilities or lack the latest features.
  • Potential Data Privacy Concerns
Using tools from unofficial sources raises concerns about data privacy, as modified software could potentially collect and transmit user data without consent.

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing inputprobe DPI Test and ToolsBracker.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

inputprobe DPI Test's answer

Plain-vanilla web platform, no frameworks: the measurement engine is dependency-free JavaScript ES modules. The site is static HTML generated by a small Python build (Jinja2 + Markdown), served from Cloudflare's edge. There is no backend at all, every measurement runs entirely in the browser and nothing is uploaded.

ToolsBracker's answer:

Next.js / React: The foundational framework utilized to deliver powerful server-side rendering (SSR), exceptional static site generation, and fast client-side transitions.

Tailwind CSS: For building a modern, highly responsive, and clean user interface that caters to the gaming aesthetic.

Vercel: Used for seamless, ultra-fast global deployment and hosting to ensure global users experience minimal latency.

What makes your product unique?

inputprobe DPI Test's answer

Two things. First, it measures instead of guessing: a browser cannot ask a mouse for its DPI, so the test divides raw movement counts by the length of an object that is exact by international standard, every bank card on earth is 85.60 mm long (ISO/IEC 7810), and paper sizes are fixed by ISO 216. Second, it publishes its own error bars. The accuracy bands shown next to your result were measured over 51 complete runs on real hardware (results on A4 stay within ~3% of each other, on a bank card within ~6%), and when a capture can't support a number, the test refuses to print one and tells you why, rather than averaging a mess into a confident-looking figure.

ToolsBracker's answer:

Instead of forcing users to visit multiple single-purpose sites, Toolsbracker centralizes over 33 specialized tools (like CPS tests, reaction timers, and mouse control assessments) under one modern roof.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

inputprobe DPI Test's answer

Most online mouse testers measure your monitor, not your mouse: they count one movement per drawn frame, so results are quietly capped by your display's refresh rate. inputprobe reads the individual device reports with their own timestamps, before that distortion happens. It also handles the errors other testers ignore: it detects OS pointer acceleration instead of blaming your mouse, uses displacement so your drag doesn't need to be straight, and includes an alignment check that solves for your placement error, the one mistake repeatability checks structurally cannot see. And everything runs locally in your browser: no account, no upload, no tracking.

ToolsBracker's answer:

Zero Bloat, Maximum Performance: Unlike older, legacy utility sites that are heavily bogged down by intrusive ads and outdated layouts, Toolsbracker offers a clean, lightning-fast user experience.

Precision Tracking: The site focuses heavily on accurate, low-latency micro-interactions, making it a highly reliable benchmark for competitive gamers looking for true metrics on their tapping and reaction speeds.

Modern UX/UI: Designed with the modern gamer in mind, the interface is intuitive, responsive on all devices, and gets users straight to the test without unnecessary friction.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

inputprobe DPI Test's answer

PC gamers dialing in sensitivity who want to know their real DPI rather than the nominal number on the box, mouse enthusiasts (the r/MouseReview crowd) comparing sensors and verifying units, and anyone troubleshooting a mouse that "feels wrong", since a few percent of unit-to-unit sensor variance is normal and measurable. More broadly, anyone who prefers a measurement with a stated error band over a confident guess.

ToolsBracker's answer:

Competitive & FPS Gamers: Players looking to benchmark and sharpen their raw mechanical skills, such as click acceleration, aim precision, and auditory/visual reaction times.

Hardware and Peripheral Enthusiasts: Tech-savvy users, particularly from communities like Reddit's mouse review spaces, who want to test the polling rates, click latency, or physical performance of new gaming gear.

Casual Users & Testers: Everyday internet users looking for quick, accessible utility tools to test their keyboard, mouse, or vision capabilities.

What's the story behind your product?

inputprobe DPI Test's answer

I tested my own mouse on the popular online testers and got answers that were confidently wrong, most of them were really measuring my monitor's refresh rate. So I built a set of testers around one rule: a verdict must quote the evidence it's based on, and when the evidence isn't good enough, the tool refuses to print a number. That meant doing the unglamorous part: running the DPI method 51 times across two mice to measure how accurate it actually is, publishing those bands next to every result, and writing up the full methodology (including what has not been validated yet) at inputprobe.com/methodology/.

ToolsBracker's answer:

Toolsbracker was engineered to solve a common frustration: the fragmentation of basic gaming and utility tools across the web. Many existing testing sites are years out of date, poorly optimized, or cluttered. Toolsbracker was created as a fast, unified, Next.js-driven alternative. Designed with modern web performance and SEO best practices at its core, it managed to explode in visibility right out of the gate—capturing over 11,000 search impressions within just its first 25 days of launch.

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

inputprobe DPI Test's answer

None to list, it's a free tool with no accounts and no tracking, so we genuinely don't know who uses it, and we prefer it that way.

ToolsBracker's answer:

Competitive FPS Players: Individual esports athletes and ranked gamers using the tool suite for daily warm-ups and reflex training.

Hardware Reviewers & Tech Content Creators: Digital creators and tech bloggers who utilize the platform's benchmarks to objectively test and review gaming mice, switches, and keyboards.

Community Gaming Hubs: Members of specialized gaming subreddits and Discord servers who rely on the platform to compare click-per-second scores and reaction times.
