Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing IncidentHub and WebPixie.

What's the story behind your product?

IncidentHub's answer

It's a product that I've built based on my own experiences in previous organizations where I needed such a solution.

WebPixie's answer:

WebPixie was created around a simple observation: a website can remain online while many important problems develop quietly in the background. SSL certificates can expire, DNS records can change, domains can approach expiration, links can break, and website content can be modified unexpectedly. WebPixie was built to bring these signals together and make website monitoring more complete, understandable, and proactive.

What makes your product unique?

IncidentHub's answer

  • It's simple to setup - 2 steps maximum.
  • It has advanced component filtering with auto-detection.
  • It has alert fine-tuning capabilities.

WebPixie's answer:

WebPixie goes beyond traditional uptime monitoring by bringing uptime, SSL, DNS, domain health, website changes, broken links, performance, security findings, and incident tracking into one platform. It gives teams a broader view of website health instead of requiring multiple separate tools.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

IncidentHub's answer

Its simplicity, and advanced component filtering and alert tuning features.

WebPixie's answer:

WebPixie is designed for users who need more than a simple โ€œup or downโ€ check. It helps identify issues such as expiring SSL certificates, DNS changes, domain risks, broken links, security header problems, and unexpected website changes from a single dashboard. Its free plan and accessible tools also make it easy to start without a complex setup.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

IncidentHub's answer

IT, Ops, Development, SRE teams and MSPs that need a hassle-free yet powerful notification system for monitoring their third-party cloud/SaaS services.

Working on my SaaS that monitors third-party status pages - https://incidenthub.cloud/ It's a one-person project I started last year. My biggest technical challenge remains dealing with the immense number of different APIs (and not-APIs) in the different status pages out there. Marketing remains my biggest overall challenge as my background is engineering, but I've learnt quite a bit since I launched this. - Source: Hacker News / 10 months ago
