What makes your product unique?

Snaptide's answer:

Every other client-gallery tool sells the same thing: a nicer place to browse photos. Snaptide changes the mechanism. Instead of sending guests a link to hundreds of images and hoping they scroll, each guest uploads one selfie and the AI shows them only the photos they actually appear in. That removes the most common support request photographers get after every event: “can you send me the ones with me?”

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Snaptide's answer:

Three practical reasons.

First, guests never browse the full gallery — albums are private and unindexed, and each person is matched only to their own photos, which matters at weddings and events where guests do not want to be searchable.

Second, delivery is built for how events actually work: a QR code at the venue, automatic WhatsApp and email notifications when photos are ready, and no app for guests to install.

Third, the economics are photographer-friendly and India-first — paid downloads pay the photographer 75%, pricing is in rupees, and support runs over WhatsApp.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Snaptide's answer:

Professional wedding and event photographers, photo studios and agencies, and anyone managing a very large private album such as a family celebration. The common thread is volume: Snaptide earns its keep when an event produces hundreds or thousands of photos and many guests who each only want their own.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

Snaptide's answer:

Snaptide is a server-rendered PHP web application served by nginx, with a responsive browser interface — there is nothing for photographers or guests to install. The distinguishing piece is the face-recognition pipeline: a guest selfie is converted into a non-reversible facial embedding, which is matched against the album. Embeddings are anonymised, are not shared externally, and are never used for advertising.

What's the story behind your product?

Snaptide's answer:

Snaptide grew out of Excalibur Web Services, a software and infrastructure company that builds web platforms. The starting point was a problem photographers kept describing rather than a technology looking for a use: after every wedding, they were fielding the same messages one by one, asking which photos a guest appeared in.

The obvious fix would have been a prettier gallery. Instead the team built around a different assumption — that a guest should never have to search, because the album should already know. That is why face recognition sits at the centre of the product rather than being an add-on, and why albums are private and unindexed by default.

The other half of the story is how it is delivered: Indian rupee pricing, WhatsApp support, and a small hands-on team. The founder has personally walked photographers through very large uploads over WhatsApp rather than leaving them to a ticket queue.
