Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Hypervector and Inkdex.io.

What makes your product unique?

Inkdex.io's answer:

Most tattoo discovery is based on location or hashtags. Inkdex lets you search by visual styleโ€”upload any reference image and find artists whose work actually looks like what you want, regardless of where they're located.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Inkdex.io's answer:

Other platforms focus on booking or local discovery. Inkdex is the only one that lets you search by image. You don't need to know tattoo terminology or the right hashtagsโ€”just show us what you like.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Inkdex.io's answer:

People planning a tattoo who know what style they want but don't know how to find the right artist. Also tattoo artists who want to be discovered for their specific style rather than just their location.

What's the story behind your product?

Inkdex.io's answer:

Most tattoo artists are on Instagram, but Instagram is made for engagement, not search. It's easy to get a folder of inspiration, but for artists nowhere near your location, unless you're in a major metro.

So I built a visual search engine that matches style and giving you filters to find artists in your city.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

Inkdex.io's answer:

Trained embeddings for image-based style matching, with automated Instagram indexing to keep artist portfolios current without manual uploads.
