  • Increased Accessibility
The tool can be particularly helpful for users with limited mobility or dexterity who find traditional keyboard use difficult, enabling them to access applications more easily.
  • Improved Efficiency for Non-Touch Typists
For users who are not proficient in touch typing, Hunt-n-Peck can make interaction with the computer more efficient by reducing the need to find specific keys.
  • Open Source and Customizable
Being open source, users and developers have the opportunity to customize and improve the software according to their own needs and preferences.

Possible disadvantages of hunt-n-peck

  • Slower Input for Fast Typers
For touch typists or those accustomed to keyboard shortcuts, using a visual hunt-and-peck system may slow down their input speed and disrupt their workflow.
  • Limited Complex Functionality
Hunt-n-Peck may not support complex commands and multitasking operations that are easily performed through keyboard shortcuts, limiting its functionality for advanced users.
  • Potential Learning Curve
While designed to be intuitive, some users might still find a learning curve associated with transitioning from traditional methods to using Hunt-n-Peck.
  • Dependency on Visual Interface
The reliance on visual interaction assumes that the user can see the screen clearly, which might not be suitable for users with visual impairments without further accessibility support.

Possible disadvantages of StackBlitz

  • Limited Plugins
Unlike traditional IDEs like VSCode or IntelliJ, StackBlitz has a limited ecosystem of plugins and extensions.
  • Online Dependency
StackBlitz requires an internet connection to function, which can be a limitation for developers who need to work offline.
  • Performance
For very large projects or those requiring extensive computational resources, performance may degrade compared to local development environments.
  • Mobile Accessibility
While StackBlitz is accessible on mobile devices, the user experience is not as optimized as it is on desktop browsers.
  • Limited Framework Support

  1. Has almost everything I need

I've started using this as my main IDE for new projects when I'm trying things out. If it keeps getting better at the rate it has been, it'll be even better than coding locally.

    ๐Ÿ Competitors: replit

All applications created on StackBlitz also get deployed automatically on their servers! So, this Angular toy app I just created is hosted automatically on https://angular-yvyi2j.stackblitz.io/. Most likely, the URL is still working (will load slowly, though, as youโ€™d expect when hosted for free)!

Managing reactive state and dependent computations in JavaScript can get complex, especially when combining asynchronous and synchronous data. RS-X is a library that allows you to bind expressions to plain objects and makes the parts of the model used by those expressions fully reactive. • Show HN: I combine Htmx, LiveView and SolidJS for interactive server components
I like htmx, LiveView, React and Solid. They are great at different points, so I try to combine them in Solv (Stateless Offline-capable LiveView) and write a prototype to show the benefits. Solv's main idea is that stateless servers keep client's state in a volatile cache. It enables server components that are also interactive, which is best of both worlds between LiveView and htmx. Then fine-grained reactivity is... - Source: Hacker News / 8 months ago
