BenchSelf publishes 19 browser-based self-tests, 17 of which report your result as a percentile rather than as a bare number.

The percentile is the point. 240 milliseconds is either unremarkable or genuinely quick depending on whether you were on a mouse, a trackpad or a phone, and most self-test pages hand you the figure without saying which. Every ranked test here ends with three things: the percentile, the device class it was computed within, and a plain statement of what the comparison population actually is - including when that population is still a fitted reference curve rather than real people.

Tests cover reaction time and reflexes (including an F1 start-lights test), click speed (10-second CPS, jitter clicking, double-click, right-click, spacebar), pointing hardware (mouse accuracy, polling rate, scrolling), memory (visual, number, verbal, sequence), hearing, color blindness and peripheral vision.

The methodology page lists where each baseline curve's numbers came from and which of them are estimates rather than measurements.

  • Do we have good estimates for the percentiles of scores on the different tests on human benchmark?
Earlier today I was wondering if anyone had estimated the percentiles for scores in the Verbal Memory test on humanbenchmark.com. They display a graph on the stats page, but not the corresponding percentiles for each score displayed. Source: almost 3 years ago
