Every beer legally sold in the United States must file its label with the federal government (the TTB) before it ships. Hopgrail reads those filings every day and publishes them the day they clear: the beer, the brewery, the style, the ABV, and the label art exactly as filed. 44,000+ labels since...

HopGrail's answer
Next.js on Vercel, Postgres on Supabase, MapLibre with self-hosted tiles on Cloudflare, and Claude for reading label artwork into structured records. Data comes from the TTB's public COLA registry and Open Brewery DB.
HopGrail's answer
Craft beer drinkers who want to know what's coming before it lands: people hunting a specific release, tracking a brewery, or standing in a bottle shop with a can they can't identify. Also anyone who wants an honest list of new breweries by state.
HopGrail's answer
Every beer legally sold in the US must file its label with the federal government before it ships. HopGrail reads those filings every day and publishes them as a searchable register: the beer, the brewery, the style, the ABV and the label art, the day it clears. Nothing on the site is crowd-sourced or guessed; every entry is a federal record.
HopGrail's answer
Untappd and the rating apps tell you what other drinkers have logged. HopGrail tells you what breweries have filed, which is earlier and complete. A beer that nobody has logged yet is still on the register, and a taproom can with no barcode still scans, because the match is against the filed label rather than a user database. When there's no match, HopGrail says so instead of guessing.
HopGrail's answer
It started with a can that no beer app could identify. The barcode wasn't in any database, but the label had been on file with the federal government for weeks. The register was public and nobody was reading it, so HopGrail was built to read it daily and make it usable: first as a website, then a scanner, then an iOS app.
