  • I Made Tinnitus My Friend (Then It Disappeared)
DOH! https://hn.algolia.com/?dateRange=all&page=3&prefix=true&query=%22floaters%22&sort=byDate&type=all Thank you! Tested this time: โ€œfloatersโ€. As of now, top of page three has that potentially-useless supplement that caught my eye. Before was a now-rare error :). - Source: Hacker News / 2 days ago
  • Ask HN: Is this normal HN ranking?
High-quality posts will usually be upvoted by lurkers, ensuring a favorable upvotes-to-comments ratio. But yes, it's a blunt instrument that sometimes has false positives where the mods intervene to turn off the penalty: https://hn.algolia.com/?dateRange=all&page=0&prefix=true&query=by%3Adang%20turned%20off%20the%20flamewar%20detector&sort=byDate&type=comment. - Source: Hacker News / 1 day ago

  • I Made Tinnitus My Friend (Then It Disappeared)
That stinks, sorry to hear. It's mentioned when tinnitus comes up, or when dark mode isn't available. Couple months ago, someone recommended a supplement that it seems could easily(?) be DIY'd in case it's snake oil (even if it's more expensive, then they don't "win"!) :) https://hn.algolia.com/?dateRange=all&page=0&prefix=false&query=%22unknown%20or%20expired%20link%22&sort=byDate&type=all. - Source: Hacker News / 2 days ago
  • Is it all just vapourware?
I find it hard to buy this generalization about _all_ "AI"/agent software when the author has only provided _one_ example. An couple alternatives could've been explored, like Cursor Cloud Agents or even just running Claude Code with remote control on another machine. I'd also personally never spend a dime on any product unless I've read _some_ positive sentiment from online commentary, like Hacker News. Ona... - Source: Hacker News / 2 days ago

  • Issue with mouse hover
I've just installed Sonoma and it works mostly ok. Though I've ran into this issue where the OS doesn't seem to know where my mouse is until I click. The cursor itself is displayed where it should be and all, but if I right click something on the dock then I can't really click anything in the menu. If I hold the right click and then hover to what I want to do in the menu then it works. I also went to the website... Source: over 2 years ago
