> it always makes me wonder how developers these days reason about what the code is actually going to compile to and perform like What will it compile to? Check out Compiler explorer [0]. What will it perform like? Use benchmarks [1] [2]. If it's not tested, it's not Engineered. For tests, I strongly prefer GTest [3], for a fairly consistent API across benchmarking, testing, and mocking. > there's a... - Source: Hacker News / 9 months ago
I chose googletest for my project. Here's my commit. During Hacktoberfest, I explored a lot of repos that already had test cases in order to reduce the miserable side of software(crashing). I had previous experience with Jest.js, a JavaScript testing framework, but this was my first time using a testing framework in C++. - Source: dev.to / 10 months ago
Roy's project uses Google Test, a C++ testing framework. His testing setup is similar to mine as we both keep source files in one directory and tests in another. The key difference is that I can run the tests using the Visual Studios run button. It was fairly easy to write the new tests as there were existing ones that I could reference to check the syntax! - Source: dev.to / almost 3 years ago
One popular C++ Testing Framework is Google Test, and is what I ended up using. - Source: dev.to / almost 3 years ago
Not sure about CppUnit but I can speak to my previous experience using the googletest framework which compiles your tests to an executable, and since it's a very simple framework we were able to cross-compile and run directly on our device. We just had to hook up a device to the server that was running the CI so it could flash it when needed. That basically meant that our process was:. Source: over 3 years ago
With this transition timeline in place, development teams relying on Gemini CLI for repository management and automated tasks must establish a migration path. In this post, I will show you how to transition seamlessly by building an automated "first-pass" pull request reviewer using the Google Antigravity SDK and the run-agy-sdk composite GitHub Action. - Source: dev.to / 2 months ago
Choose a Git platform. GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket. All three provide CI/CD capabilities. GitHub Actions and GitLab CI are the most popular and best-documented. - Source: dev.to / 3 months ago
Drive pair selection from search query logs. Right now I pick pairs by download rank. A better signal would be which pairs users actually search for. Pagefind runs client-side and doesn't log queries to any server, so I'd need a thin logging endpoint — something like a POST to a GitHub Actions-triggered function that appends to a JSONL file. Then the ETL reads the top-N ungenerated pairs from the log. This is a... - Source: dev.to / 3 months ago
GitHub Actions lets developers automate workflows directly within GitHub. You write YAML workflow files that trigger on repository events to build, test, and deploy code. Actions provides hosted runners and supports matrix builds, so you can test across multiple OS versions in parallel. - Source: dev.to / 3 months ago
On merge, GitHub Actions applies infra changes via Terraform, and the Jenkins seeder picks up new DSL files on its next poll. - Source: dev.to / 4 months ago
