Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing GitHub Copilot and WriteCV.

What makes your product unique?

WriteCV's answer:

WriteCV uses a dual-method ATS scoring system that blends deterministic structural analysis with LLM-powered content evaluation - giving you an honest, accurate resume score instead of the inflated numbers most tools show. Beyond just telling you what's wrong, it generates per-bullet AI rewrites that preserve your natural voice while improving weak content. Average user score goes from 62 to 87 after applying suggestions.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

WriteCV's answer:

Most resume tools either give you a generic checklist ("add metrics") without showing you how, or generate robotic corporate rewrites. WriteCV does both - it scores your resume honestly, then provides actual rewritten bullets you can apply with one click. The AI understands your seniority, industry, and role context, so suggestions feel natural, not cookie-cutter. There's no paywall hiding the best insights - all analysis dimensions are available on the free plan. Plus, it includes 20+ ATS-optimized templates and unlimited PDF exports.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

WriteCV's answer:

Job seekers who want to make sure their resume actually passes ATS filters and lands on a recruiter's desk - especially software engineers, developers, and tech professionals actively applying to jobs. It's for people who are tired of guessing whether their resume is good enough and want data-driven, actionable feedback instead of vague advice.

What's the story behind your product?

WriteCV's answer:

WriteCV was born out of frustration with existing resume tools that show inflated scores to make you feel good, then lock real feedback behind a paywall. We wanted to build a tool that gives you an honest assessment of your resume and actually helps you fix it - not just tell you "add metrics" but show you exactly how each bullet should read. The goal was simple: help job seekers get past ATS filters with a resume that sounds like them, not like a corporate template.
