FirstCinema is a film diary and review community for the web and iOS. Members log every film they watch with the date they watched it, rate in half stars, keep a watchlist, publish reviews and build lists, so that a profile reads as a history of someone's taste rather than an undated pile of titles.
The social side sits alongside the diary. Members follow each other and read an activity feed of what the people they follow are watching, rating and reviewing. Reviews support spoiler hiding and threaded comments, and lists can be saved or copied by other members.
Two features address the problem of deciding what to watch. A roulette deals a single film drawn from the member's own recommendation pool, and a short survey asks a few questions about the evening and answers with one title. Both draw on what that member has rated, watched, liked and passed over rather than on what is generally popular.
Two things separate FirstCinema from other film trackers. Its catalog is restricted to films with at least 1,000 IMDb votes, which removes the duplicate entries, untitled shorts and half-filled records that make search unreliable in an unfiltered database. And it is localized past the interface: film titles, synopses, taglines and cast biographies are served in Spanish and French as well as English, which few film tracking services attempt.
The catalog carries per-country theatrical release dates, so now-playing and coming-soon listings are worked out for the member's own region. Cast and crew pages carry full filmographies with a ranked "best known for" shelf and the collaborators a person returns to.
FirstCinema is free and supported by ads, with no paid tier and no in-app purchases. A free account is needed to log films, write reviews and build lists.

If they read in Spanish or French, FirstCinema is usable in a way most film trackers are not. The catalog itself is translated, not just the navigation, so a synopsis and a cast biography arrive in the reader's language.
If they are tired of search returning four versions of the same film, the catalog gate solves that by construction rather than by ranking tricks.
And if the recurring problem is spending twenty minutes choosing and none watching, FirstCinema treats that as a feature to build rather than a side effect to tolerate.
