The interesting half is the render pipeline. Resumes are rendered as HTML and printed to PDF by headless Chromium via Playwright — one long-lived browser with a small pool of pages, since launching a browser per render throws away the font cache and costs you a second. The PDF then goes through pdfjs-dist twice over: once to extract the text for the ATS scorer, once to rasterize pages for the in-app preview, with sharp doing the image work.

AI goes through OpenRouter. Speech-to-text uses the browser's own recognition where it exists and Deepgram where it doesn't.

Hosting is Railway — a single container running the web app and Chromium together, with Postgres and an S3-compatible bucket alongside, Cloudflare in front. Payments through Polar and Razorpay.

Tests are Vitest, and they render real PDFs rather than mocking the browser, because the bugs worth catching only exist in the real output.

Cost, mostly. The tools in this category are usually $20–30 a month, and people sign up, build one resume, then forget to cancel. Here you pay per resume and that's the end of it. No renewal, no card on file waiting for next month.

Second thing: you see everything before you pay. The full ATS score, the warnings, and a rendered preview of the exact PDF you'd get. Nothing important is hidden behind the checkout. Plenty of builders let you write the whole thing and only then tell you the download costs money.

Third: after you buy, edits are free for a week. Fix a typo, swap a bullet, re-download. No second charge and no "2 updates remaining" counter — that stuff exists to make you hoard changes instead of fixing the typo.

None to name — it's a consumer product, not a B2B one. There's no enterprise account or logo to point at; every user is an individual paying for their own resume, and I'm not going to publish a job seeker's name next to the fact that they were job hunting.

It's also early. Honest answer is that the user base is individuals across India, the US and the UK, and that's the whole picture right now.

Most resume builders charge a monthly subscription for something you use twice a year. GetFinalCV charges once, per resume. You pay when you download, and you keep the file.

The ATS score is the part I'd point at. Instead of scanning your text in a box, it renders your actual PDF and then reads the text back out of it, the same way a parser would. That catches things that look fine on screen and break in extraction — two-column layouts that scramble reading order, headings that come out one letter at a time, fonts that silently drop digits. We hit all of those while building it, which is why the checker works that way.

The AI proposes changes as a diff you approve or reject, field by field. It doesn't quietly rewrite your job titles.

People actively applying, not people casually maintaining a profile. Someone with a deadline in the next couple of weeks who needs one resume that comes out clean on the other end.

Skews early-to-mid career — new grads, two-to-six years in, career switchers rewriting their history for a different role. Mostly applying through company portals and job boards where a parser reads the file before a person does, so formatting failures cost them interviews they never hear about.

Big chunk in India, which is why pricing there is ₹99 rather than a converted dollar figure. The rest is US, UK and EU.

The common thread is they don't want a subscription. They need a resume, maybe two, maybe a tailored version for a specific job. Someone applying to 200 roles a month over a year is honestly better served by a monthly tool — that's not who this is built for.

It started as annoyance at the subscription model. I wanted one good resume, and every decent tool wanted a card on file for a thing I'd use twice.

But the part that actually shaped the product came later. Before building any templates I ran a spike: render a resume to PDF, then pull the text back out and see what a parser would get. The results were bad in ways nothing on screen showed. One layout put every bullet point after every employer name, because of how the browser painted them. A font — a Calibri lookalike, widely used — rendered perfectly but dropped the letter i and half the digits when read back. "Senior Backend Engineer" came out "Sen or Backend Eng neer".

That's the whole thing, really. A resume can look correct and be unreadable to the software screening it, and you'd never know. So the checker renders the real PDF and reads it back, and the templates are built so those failures can't come back in quietly.
