GetFakeName was built with Lovable with a lot of trial, error, and iteration.

SecurityBot.dev is built using the Laravel Framework, and is backed by a managed MySQL database. The application and infrastructure is deployed through Laravel Forge and is hosted on Digital Ocean.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

SecurityBot is used by a mix of established tech companies and indie entrepreneurs.

What's the story behind your product?

GetFakeName's answer

I was not satisfied with other free random name generators because they didn't offer the types of names I was looking for. For instance, I needed to generate a name a Mexican woman might have. I noticed that other name generators did not offer to generate a maternal and paternal last name, so immediately the other sites could not deliver what I needed. Another time I needed band name ideas, but I couldn't immediately find a band name generator. So I built GetFakeName to help others who might be facing similar issues.

SecurityBot.dev's answer:

SecurityBot.dev founder Jason Gilmore is a prolific creator of online products, including 6DollarCRM, SpiesInDC, TurboShrink, and has long maintained a personal website at WJGilmore.com. He originally built SecurityBot.dev to monitor his own products, and it worked so well that he subsequently released it for wider use.

What makes your product unique?

GetFakeName's answer

GetFakeName doesn't just offer first, middle, and last names from multiple countries, it can generate names for other things, like fantasy games, bands, and more. And, most importantly, it has a bulk creation and export feature that allow a user to create up to fifty names and export them to a .CSV file for easy use.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

GetFakeName's answer

Because GetFakeName does more than other sites. For instance, one of GetFakeName's top competitors offers only British first and last names; it cannot generate names from other countries, fantasy character names, band names, or any of the other types of names that GetFakeName can.

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

GetFakeName's answer

GetFakeName is and always will be completely free, so it doesn't have "customers" in the usual sense. But anyone who needs random fake names generated for a variety of purposes can and should use the site whenever they need to.

This week I launched IterOps https://iterops.com, a heat mapping, rage click, dead click, scroll mapping, and simple A/B testing tool. I originally built it to have a better idea of what people are doing on my other micro-saas projects like https://securitybot.dev and https://contributoriq.com. Already finding it so useful that I figured I'd just turn it into a product too. - Source: Hacker News / 6 months ago
