Geeke is a social platform that aims to connect Readers and Writers in the most awesome way! It is a site built for the young generation with the goal of modernizing the delights of books.
For starters, it is a place to find new books to read, all for free! Our cozy reading experience allows you to read anytime, anywhere, even offline! And here's great news for all budding writers out there - you can also write your own books here! And it doesn't just end here...
At the core, Geeke is a social media mashed with books. This means you can meet new people, follow your favorite writers, comment & discuss books, and much more! We even have fandom clubs.
Of course, we didn't just stop there. Since we aim to build something cool for today's generation of bookworms, we also keep doing some crazy experiments. Allow us to ramble out some of them -
Love watching movies with friends? Why not try a Group Reading Session?
Passionate about a Fandom? Join or start a fandom club to meet new people sharing a common interest and also find relevant Fanfics.
Don't just want readers to read silently? Add songs to your chapters that match the vibe from the entire YouTube library.
Wanna try some challenges? Hunt for treasures between the lines of books and redeem them for coins!
Got some coins? Spend them on profile frames, cool animation for your messages, or skins for your Library. There is something for every book lover out there!
Writers, feeling stuck while writing? Let our AI Writing Assistant help you with some ideas and suggestions!
Want to remain connected with your friends and followers in an interactive way? Love sendings Snaps? We have something similar but for books - Moments!
GitHub GistGeeke's answer
Geeke is one of the few websites that offers a social platform built around books.
Going even beyond, It is the only platform that makes books more interactive with features like Group Reading Sessions, Daily Hunts, animated Skins, Fandom Clubs & much more
Geeke's answer
Geeke is a platform built for all book lovers globally, whether readers or writers.
Our special focus is on making books more fun & engaging for the young audience by adding features that are relevant to them.
Geeke's answer
The current platforms for books are boring and dull and do not offer much beyond reading ebooks.
The new generation needed a better platform built like a social media as well as offering unique ways to make books more fun & interactive.
Geeke's answer
Geeke is built using Anvil Framework
The tools offered by the framework for rapid development allows us to remain ahead and introduce new features more quickly.
Geeke's answer
Hey everyone! This is Divyesh Lakhotia, the founder of Geeke. I am a student from India currently pursuing my Bachelor in Computer Applications. I started working on Geeke back in 2021 when I just entered my 12th grade.
Why build Geeke?
Yes, there are plenty of websites already available online for reading and writing books. But they don't offer much beyond that. Mostly they are just a downgrade and a cheap alternative to an actual book.
Even big sites like Wattpad started destroying the few extras they had and transitioned into another typical site focused more on making money rather than making the site more engaging (I had been active almost daily on Wattpad since 2017 before the community started becoming dry).
That's when the idea of Geeke was born. It felt that the internet deserved a better place for books. Ebooks may not provide the same feeling as reading an actual book but there is so much more that only they can offer.
I wanted to build a social media that is familiar to existing platforms on the internet that the young crowd loves using. But of course, modified for books!
For a long time, the idea remained in my mind alongside most of my novel plots. But here we are, at last, aiming to build the most awesome and fun place for all book lovers
Based on our record, GitHub Gist seems to be more popular. It has been mentiond 8 times since March 2021. We are tracking product recommendations and mentions on various public social media platforms and blogs. They can help you identify which product is more popular and what people think of it.
If you are learning things, you could also create github gists. That way your repos will only be coding related, while you can create tutorials / work exercises in gists. Source: over 3 years ago
I use Github, both for full repos and for short gists. Source: over 4 years ago
On the other hand, shared DartPads are just gists on GitHub so theoretically they can include code that works with different packages. Of course, such gists will not compile in DartPad and will be displayed as having errors :(. Source: over 4 years ago
Perhaps github gists? https://gist.github.com/discover. Source: over 4 years ago
I looked at Github gists, but they are focused in displaying the markdown sourcecode (so e.g. Hyperlinks won't be clickable [1] ). Options just don't seem to be focused on simply hosting PDFs/information with clickable references. Source: almost 5 years ago
