FTB is a football tactics board that runs in the browser. No app to download, no account to create. Open the link on your laptop, tablet, or phone and start building. It's built for coaches who want to plan formations and explain tactical ideas without fiddling with complicated software. You get a pitch, drag-and-drop players, and the tools to show what you mean.

What you can do with it: Build formations for wide range of team sizes (11v11 to 5-a-side) Draw player movement paths with ghost chains to show runs and rotations Add custom markers to highlight zones or key positions Write coaching notes alongside your formations Create animated plays, tactics, drills Save multiple formations and switch between them Export everything as images to share with your team Set up tactical scenarios like build-up play, corners, and free kicks using ready-made templates (pro feature)

FTB works for grassroots coaches planning a Sunday league session, academy coaches breaking down set-pieces, or anyone who wants to sketch out an idea quickly. The scenario feature is especially useful for match preparation: instead of one static formation, you can build a sequence showing how players should move through different phases of play.

The core tool is free. There's an optional Pro upgrade for coaches who want cloud sync across devices and extra features, but the free version covers what most coaches need. It works in any modern browser on any device. Nothing to install, no sign-up wall. Just open it and start.

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing FTB by Kindoapps and Vim Python IDE.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

FTB by Kindoapps's answer

React Native with Expo (so the same codebase runs on web today and Android later), TypeScript, Zustand for state, react-native-svg for the pitch rendering, Supabase for auth and cloud storage, Paddle as the merchant of record for billing, and Cloudflare Pages for hosting and analytics.

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

FTB by Kindoapps's answer

FTB is built for grassroots, so the user base is individual coaches and small clubs rather than big organizations.

What makes your product unique?

FTB by Kindoapps's answer

No sign-up to start. Open it, pick a formation, drag players, share a link. Most tactics boards either lock the basics behind an account or bury them under setup screens. FTB lets you get to a usable board in seconds, on any device, in the browser. The Pro layer (cloud sync, multiple scenarios per formation, custom markers, text and equipment, animated plays) is built on top of that fast core, not in place of it.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

FTB by Kindoapps's answer

Most alternatives are either too heavy (full coaching suites with workflow overhead and a price tag to match) or too basic (a static lineup tool with nothing else). FTB sits in the middle on purpose. It runs in any browser, works on mobile, has real coaching tools (drawing, scenarios, animated plays, image and short-link sharing), and the free tier is actually useful. Pro is EUR 2.49/month or 19.99/year, not 15+ a month like the big ones.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

FTB by Kindoapps's answer

Grassroots football coaches, youth team managers, PE teachers, and individual players who want to explain a tactical idea quickly. People who need to draw something up on a Tuesday evening before training, not assemble a 40-slide playbook. Also a smaller second group: content creators making tactical explainers, and amateur analysts who want a clean visual without firing up Photoshop.

What's the story behind your product?

FTB by Kindoapps's answer

I'm a parent who coaches kids' football on the side. I kept needing a quick way to sketch a setup for my son and his teammates, and nothing on the web felt fast or simple enough. The paid coaching apps were overkill. The free ones were ugly or broken on mobile. So I started building it myself, partly out of frustration, partly to learn to code properly. It grew from there into something other coaches actually use.
