What's the story behind your product?

Fregata.app's answer

Both our founder and several on our team have used Frigate NVR and Home Assistant for years and love it. But we are primarily a Mac shop and were frustrated by the performance of running Frigate on Docker on our Macs. To take full advantage of the extreme performance of Apple Silicon, such as the Apple Neural Engine for AI object detection, GPU for AI Enrichments, and Apple Media Engine (VideoToolbox) for video stream decoding and encoding we set out to port the entire Frigate codebase to a native macOS application. No Docker, no VMs, no terminal, no compromises.
