Don't do bootcamp. Start with something like https://freecodecamp.org and take a few lessons. Try to build something from that and see how motivated you are. If you see some progress and this thing still excites you, then may be find an engineer (a friend/co worker etc) who can guide you a bit as you continue to build something. I'm using rudder (https://www.rudder.io/), it's based on cfengine (https://cfengine.com/). But this is more enterprise ready, you'll be fine with lightweight ansible. Nice thing is, that rudder ensures compliance by periodically executing all defined rules on all endpoints. Source: over 4 years ago
