Don't do bootcamp. Start with something like https://freecodecamp.org and take a few lessons. Try to build something from that and see how motivated you are. If you see some progress and this thing still excites you, then may be find an engineer (a friend/co worker etc) who can guide you a bit as you continue to build something. I tried to do brick sorting (because we have great detection and classification models at https://brickit.app/) It turned out to be much more complex than I expected. The biggest issue was grabbing. Typical approach for this type of task is to use vacuum suction actuator, but it does not work for Lego parts, because they have stubs and prevent suction from working. Not really a sorter, but https://brickit.app/ was mentioned on HN a while back, and does AI-based lego identification.
