Parse-ServerOutdoor enthusiasts, runners, cyclists, and hikers looking for an easy way to plan and visualize their routes before embarking on their adventures.
Parse-Server is recommended for startups, small to medium enterprises, and individual developers seeking a cost-effective backend solution with full control over their infrastructure. It's also ideal for projects that require rapid prototyping and deployment, app developers who need pre-built SDKs, and teams looking to migrate away from Parse's legacy hosted services.

Hello, I am looking for a relatively cheap GPS, that can use GPX Routes/Tracks that are compatible with Footpath. Thanks! Source: over 2 years ago
It wonโt help you discover the most popular running spots in a city, but I use Footpath every day to plan my route. Source: over 3 years ago
I use a mobile app called Footpath, which lets you map out a walking course on a map with your finger. Then the app gives you turn-by-turn directions as you walk. I feel like the dog and I have walked every residential street in the La Mesa area by now. Source: over 3 years ago
When I need to run somewhere I am not familiar with (usually when traveling), I use Footpath for the turn-by-turn directions. It imports .gpx route files (there are a surprising number out there on the web), and you can draw/edit routes with your finger. Source: over 3 years ago
I've never used RideWithGPS. However, when I need turn-by-turn nav, I both build my routes and record my activity using the Footpath app. I have yet to find a better app for planning a route on my phone. It does turn-by-turn nav real well too. I suspect it can probably import routes from Strava. Source: over 3 years ago
If youโre coming from the Parse ecosystem, it may help to know that Parse itself is a long-running open source backend framework. You can start from the official Parse Platform site, or go deeper with the communityโs Parse Server repository. Our own developer docs are organized around that reality. If you want implementation-level guides, start with our SashiDo Documentation. - Source: dev.to / 5 months ago
If you like headless CMS / Backend As A Service you should consider https://directus.io/ or https://github.com/parse-community/parse-server. Both nodejs and open source. Source: about 4 years ago
There's numerous standard backends which frontenders could use in simplistic cases to start, say https://github.com/PostgREST/postgrest or https://github.com/parse-community/parse-server. Source: over 4 years ago
Parse is still around and supported: https://github.com/parse-community/parse-server. - Source: Hacker News / over 4 years ago
I am curious what backend framework you would choose to run with for prototyping an application with run of the mill user management requirements. That is functionality along the lines of: session management, password policies, password reset, user verifications, etc. Sadly it seems there really aren't any frameworks that have user management natively supported. The only one I am aware of is [Parse... - Source: Hacker News / about 5 years ago
