Web-powered & interactive: wallpapers are built with web tech (React, Vue, any Vite-compatible framework, including Three.js / react-three-fiber) and rendered up to 4K — so they can react and animate, not just loop a video.
Light on resources: a native Rust engine (Tauri 2) runs smoothly at up to 120 FPS and auto-pauses in fullscreen, returning CPU/GPU to 0%.
A marketplace, not just an app: publish an image or video wallpaper in about three minutes with no code, or build interactive React wallpapers with an SDK of 12 hooks — then share or sell them.
AI-assisted creation:

Fluxlay started from a simple idea: the desktop is the one screen you look at all day, but live wallpapers were stuck — locked to a single OS, often heavy, and hard to create without a proprietary editor.
Fluxlay's take is to build wallpapers with the web stack people already know (React, Vue, Three.js) and play them through a lightweight native Rust engine that runs on both Mac and Windows. That makes a living desktop something any web developer can build — and, through the marketplace, something creators can share and sell.
