Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Fieldframe and ShootProof.

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

Fieldframe's answer

BK Ventspils (basketball club, Ventspils, Latvia)

What makes your product unique?

Fieldframe's answer

Fieldframe combines automatic jersey number detection with a one-click Lightroom Classic publishing plugin, something not offered as an equivalent workflow by other sports photography platforms reviewed. Photos tagged with keywords in Lightroom skip the review queue entirely and arrive already confirmed. Every downloaded photo also gets AP/Getty-style caption metadata (player name, number, byline) embedded automatically.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Fieldframe's answer

Fieldframe's Starter plan (€9/month) costs less than half of comparable competitors' entry-level pricing for a similar feature set. It also has a notably simpler configuration surface: no confidence-threshold sliders, role-based access tiers, or nested sub-collections to manage. Club-level galleries let a photographer or club aggregate every event under one persistent, searchable link rather than sending a new one for every game.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Fieldframe's answer

Independent sports photographers who shoot team sports where athletes wear numbers (basketball, football, water polo, and similar), and sports clubs or leagues that want a single ongoing photo gallery across a season rather than one-off links per event.

What's the story behind your product?

Fieldframe's answer

Fieldframe was built by Davis Lejasmeiers, a working sports photographer who shoots games for BK Ventspils, a basketball club in Latvia. He built the tool to solve his own problem: sorting hundreds of game photos by jersey number and getting them to the right people quickly. It's tested every season on his own real game photos before anyone else uses it.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

Fieldframe's answer

A Python/FastAPI backend, a React frontend, PostgreSQL for data storage, and computer vision for automatic number detection, with cloud object storage for photo hosting.

  • Do you think this is too good to be true?
If nothing bad turns up, then just make sure you have a way of securing payment BEFORE you hand over the photos. There are a variety of websites that do this. Photoinvoice.com and shootproof.com are two I have used. Although if you... Source: over 3 years ago
