I use RSS-to-Email then read them in my mail clients. Most things get routed to a few folders without notifications that I open when I want news. This won't really work in your head so you will need to use some tools, I used to do this on paper, then in a text file where you can indent tasks to show they are a subtask of a bigger task, and finally I started using Tatask (Full disclosure I built it).
