I use the Feedbro [1] extension in the browser and the Flym [2] app on Android. I'm quite satisfied with both. [1] https://nodetics.com/feedbro/ [2] https://github.com/FredJul/Flym. - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
As a general PSA, youtube channels have an RSS feed to alert you when a favourite creator releases a new video. The form is https://www.youtube.com/feeds/videos.xml?channel_id=UC2wdo5vU7bPBNzyC2nnwmNQ where channel_id is the channel hash code which is buried in the source for the "nicely named" channel: https://www.youtube.com/@CuttingEdgeEngineering and can be found without source diving via (say) FeedBro (RSS... - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
There is the FeedBro Browser Extension for Firefox and Chrome based Browser. Works for me on Desktop and Laptop as Feedbrowser, inkluding Rules and OPML Import/Export. Also this Swiss-Army Knife can handle Feeds from other different Sources like Flipboard, Facebook (official Pages) and some other. If you combine that with some other helpers (Thanls a lot to all of you to post some Tools I don't know), you have a... Source: about 3 years ago
I use Feedbro on the laptop and Readyou on the android phone. Readyou is posh. Source: over 3 years ago
Not sure as I haven't used it since switching to Feedbro. Source: over 3 years ago
Funny that this pops up now, yesterday I was looking into using rss2email [1] and migrate all my RSS reading workflow inside mutt. Ultimately I decided against it because I like being able to use a web-app based reader (Tiny Tiny RSS [2]) both on my work computer and my phone for RSS. Hello there! I just set up TinyTinyRSS (https://tt-rss.org/) at home and I'm looking into interesting things to read as well as people/website publishing interesting stuff. This, among the other things, to reduce the daily (doom)scrolling and avoid the recommendation algorithms by social media. So: who or what do you follow via RSS feed, and why? - Source: Hacker News / 6 months ago
Tiny Tiny RSS is still awesome, twelve years later. It is super-easy to self-host: https://tt-rss.org/. - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
I self-host Tiny Tiny RSS (https://tt-rss.org/). I think it will do everything you want (and more). The web UI is fine, and the Android app is great. It's actively developed, has been around for over a decade (I have been using it since Google Reader shut down) and has been super stable. I guess the only thing it doesn't have that a SaaS offering could do would be some sort of recommendation engine (which I have... - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
Ttrss (https://tt-rss.org/) self hosted. When Google Reader shut down I switch to feedly for a bit, don't remember now why but for some reason I didn't like it. So I started self hosting my own instance of ttrss and haven't looked back since. - Source: Hacker News / almost 2 years ago
