Most browser extension developers ship the same product to Chrome, Edge, and Firefox, then try to track its performance across three separate developer dashboards, three different review feeds, and three sets of keyword rankings. The data is fragmented, history is short, and there is no easy way to compare a release against a competitor over time.

Exstats fixes this by grouping the Chrome, Edge, and Firefox versions of an extension into one product view, alongside the competitors you want to watch. It tracks daily changes in installs, ratings, reviews, category rank, and search rank, then keeps up to a full year of history so weekly and monthly trends are visible at a glance. Email and Slack alerts fire on rating drops, rank shifts, and competitor updates so a regression does not sit unnoticed for a week.

Beyond your own products, the Extension Explorer indexes 360,000+ extensions with 30+ searchable fields and exportable CSV or XLSX, the Keyword Tracker suggests AI-generated keyword ideas and tracks rank by store, and the Store Trends dashboard reports category growth, rating distributions, and review activity across each store.

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Exstats and Tableau.

What makes your product unique?

Exstats's answer

Exstats treats an extension as one product across stores, not as three separate listings on three sites. The Chrome, Edge, and Firefox versions sit in one row, and history, reviews, alerts, and competitor data flow from there.

What's the story behind your product?

Exstats's answer

Exstats started because developers shipping browser extensions kept running into the same wall. The Chrome Web Store, Edge Add-ons, and Firefox Add-ons each give publishers a siloed view with short history, no competitor data, and no way to compare a release against a rival over time. Teams that maintained extensions on more than one store ended up checking three dashboards a day and keeping competitor numbers in spreadsheets. We built Exstats so an extension and its store versions live in one place, with daily history, alerts, and competitor tracking built in.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Exstats's answer

Unified multi-browser view. Exstats is the only dashboard that groups the Chrome, Edge, and Firefox versions of an extension into one product, with shared history and shared alerts. Most analytics tools cover only the Chrome Web Store, or split the three stores across separate sites.

Full year of daily history. Stores show current numbers and a short trail. Exstats keeps daily snapshots for up to a year so weekly and monthly trends, rating regressions, and competitor launches are visible at a glance.

Reviews from every store in one table. Chrome, Edge, and Firefox reviews sit in one sortable, filterable table, so a developer can read a week of feedback without rotating between three dashboards.

Keyword tracking with AI suggestions. Search rank is tracked per store with daily change indicators, and the keyword tool suggests new keywords from competitor listings rather than expecting the developer to bring a complete list.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Exstats's answer

Exstats is built for the people shipping and growing browser extensions.

The core audience is independent extension developers and small product teams who need one place to watch installs, ratings, reviews, and keyword rank for their extensions, on whichever stores they publish to.

A second audience is extension growth and marketing specialists who track competitor launches, rating shifts, and category trends on behalf of clients and need a single view across Chrome, Edge, and Firefox rather than three separate workflows.

A third audience is product and engineering teams at companies whose extension is a meaningful acquisition or retention surface, who need daily alerts, exportable data, and API access for internal dashboards.

  1. MeganMills
Powerful Data Visualization Tool with a Steep Learning Curve

Iโ€™ve used Tableau to analyze and present data for business reporting, and its strength is clearly in visualization. Turning raw data into interactive dashboards is fast once you understand how the tool works, and the end results look polished and professional.

However, getting to that point isnโ€™t instant. New users may struggle with calculations, data modeling, and performance tuning. Licensing costs are also high, which can be difficult to justify for smaller teams or individual users.

Tableau works best for organizations that rely heavily on data-driven decisions and can invest time and budget into analytics. Itโ€™s not the easiest or cheapest option, but the output quality makes it worthwhile

  • Tableau Certified Data Analyst Exam Readiness
Hey everyone, I'm interested in taking the Tableau Certified Data Analyst Exam Readiness course through tableau.com to prepare and get Tableau certified. I had some questions about the course, such as are the videos pre recorded or in person, do you have access to the material once the 90 days expire, and I was also wondering if anyone had input/advice for this course. Thanks! Source: about 3 years ago
  • Where to publish knowledge sharing on Tableau reverse engineering and data dictionary generation?
Could anyone recommend what media I should approach to publish my work (internet or print). I could try the Tableau forum in tableau.com but it's not very active + Tableau may be unappreciative as my work overlaps with their (pricey) data management solution. Plus it needs to be some high visibility / reputable media to count for my career development. Any recommendations welcome thanks!!! Source: over 3 years ago
  • I have huge loads of data in Redshift. How can I make this available to end-users after performing few procs and queries? It should be available online.
Tableau public: tableau.com. Big player but your data will be made public and not really user-friendly data model. Source: over 4 years ago
  • What tips do you have on evaluating various BI tools for business needs? What are the essential criteria's you would include when evaluating different tools? The goal is to have an unbiased, objective approach.
For example, we have a project to compare Tableau, Power BI, and InetSoft. The need for strong pagination-based email delivery eliminated Tableau. AWS's Linux instance is the targeted platform which makes Power BI less than ideal. Source: over 4 years ago
  • Anyone go into Data Analytics after this program?
I just started learning Tableau because our dept is transitioning into Tableau from Power BI. Since I already have years of experience with Power BI I just went over their tutorials from tableau.com and got onboarded pretty quick. I'm still learning it but I'm at least able to build out reports and get things done. Its not too difficult to pickup one BI tool when you have experience with another. Source: over 4 years ago
