  • Lesser Known Platform
Code Parcel has a smaller user base and community compared to competitors, which means fewer shared examples, templates, and community-driven support resources.

  • Dependency on Internet Connection
Being a fully browser-based tool, Code Parcel requires a stable internet connection to use, making it unsuitable for offline development scenarios.
  • Potential Storage Limitations
As a smaller platform, there may be limitations on the number of projects or the amount of code you can store, which could be restrictive for heavy users or larger projects.

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing ExifHub and Code Parcel.

What makes your product unique?

ExifHub's answer

ExifHub processes every photo entirely in the browser. Nothing is uploaded to a server at any point, for any tool. Most other online metadata tools require uploading your image first, which means trusting a third party with files that may contain sensitive GPS location data or personal details. ExifHub avoids that entirely, while also covering more ground than most single-purpose competitors by offering viewing, removing, and generating tools for EXIF, GPS, IPTC, and XMP metadata all in one place, and in five languages.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

ExifHub's answer

Most EXIF tools either upload your file to a server for processing or only handle one specific task (just viewing, or just removing). ExifHub does both: it keeps every photo local to your device, and it bundles viewing, removing, and generating metadata tools together instead of sending users to different sites for each task. It's also free with no account, no signup, and no file limits, and it's available in English, Spanish, German, Portuguese, and French.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

ExifHub's answer

Photographers checking camera settings or organizing photos by location, privacy-conscious users who want to remove GPS or camera metadata before sharing photos online, developers and QA testers who need to inspect or generate EXIF data for testing, and journalists or researchers verifying what information a photo contains before publishing it.

What's the story behind your product?

ExifHub's answer

ExifHub was built to solve a simple problem: most online EXIF and metadata tools require uploading a photo to a server, which isn't ideal when that photo might contain GPS coordinates or other private information. ExifHub was built to run entirely in the browser instead, so photos never leave the user's device, while covering the full range of metadata tasks people actually need, from viewing and removing to generating custom EXIF data.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

ExifHub's answer

ExifHub is built with Astro and Tailwind CSS, and uses the exifr and piexifjs JavaScript libraries to read and write image metadata directly in the browser. It's deployed on Cloudflare Pages as a fully static site with no backend server.

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

ExifHub's answer

ExifHub is a free tool with no accounts or sign-ups, so there isn't a customer list to share.
