ExcelBites is a free web app for learning Microsoft Excel formulas through short, gamified lessons. Each lesson takes about five minutes and covers a specific function or technique.

What makes ExcelBites unique is its true multilingual support. Most Excel tutorials online assume you have an English version of Excel. ExcelBites supports four languages โ€” Swedish, Norwegian Bokmรฅl, Danish, and English โ€” using the actual localized function names. Swedish users learn SUMMA and LETARAD,Norwegian users learn SUMMER and FINN.RAD, Danish users learn SUM and LOPSLAG.

The app covers 45 lessons including basic aggregation (SUM, AVERAGE), conditional logic (IF, IFS), lookups (VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH), conditional aggregation (SUMIFS, COUNTIFS), text and date functions, and newer dynamic arrays (LET, SEQUENCE, VSTACK).

AngularStrap features and specs

  • Integration with Bootstrap
AngularStrap is designed to work seamlessly with Twitter Bootstrap, allowing developers to utilize Bootstrap's styles and components while enhancing them with AngularJS directives. This can lead to a more cohesive design and functionality alignment between CSS and JavaScript.
  • Modular Components
AngularStrap provides a set of modular components such as tooltips, modals, and dropdowns which are easy to integrate and use. These components follow AngularJS principles like two-way data binding, making them more intuitive for AngularJS developers.
  • Lightweight
Compared to some other UI frameworks integrated with AngularJS, AngularStrap is relatively lightweight, as it adds only those features that are necessary to link Bootstrap and AngularJS, minimizing additional overhead.
  • Easy Customization
AngularStrap allows easy customization of the components to fit the needs of the application. Developers can modify templates and behaviors while leveraging Bootstrap's foundational styles.

Possible disadvantages of AngularStrap

  • Limited to Bootstrap
AngularStrap is specifically designed for use with Bootstrap, which may not be ideal for projects that do not wish to use Bootstrap as their base CSS framework.
  • AngularJS Dependency
AngularStrap is built for AngularJS, which is an older version of Angular. As many projects move to the newer Angular versions (Angular 2+), the lack of support for these versions makes AngularStrap less versatile in modern application development.
  • Maintenance and Updates
As AngularStrap is dependent on both AngularJS and Bootstrap, maintenance and keeping up to date with major updates in both libraries can introduce compatibility issues or require additional effort.
  • Learning Curve for Non-Bootstrap Users
For developers unfamiliar with Bootstrap, there can be an additional learning curve to effectively use AngularStrap as they will need to understand Bootstrap's component structure and styling conventions.

Analysis of ExcelBites.app

Overall verdict

  • I don't have verified, up-to-date information about ExcelBites.app specifically, so I can't confirm its quality, pricing, or reliability firsthand. Based on the name, it appears to be a tool related to Excel tips, tutorials, or bite-sized learning content, but you should verify current reviews, user feedback, and features directly before relying on it.

Why this product is good

  • Unable to confirm specific features, pricing, or user satisfaction without direct access to the site's current content and reviews
  • No verified user testimonials or third-party reviews are available in my knowledge base for this specific product
  • The name suggests it may offer quick, digestible Excel tips or tutorials, which could be useful if that's confirmed accurate
  • Always recommended to check for security certificates, company transparency, and refund policies before committing

Recommended for

  • Users curious about Excel tips who should independently verify the site's legitimacy and content quality
  • Those willing to do their own research via reviews, forums, or trial periods before fully committing
  • Not recommended as a blind purchase without checking current user feedback and site credibility

Analysis of AngularStrap

Overall verdict

  • AngularStrap was a solid, well-crafted set of native AngularJS directives for Bootstrap components in its time, but it is now largely obsolete since it targets AngularJS (1.x), which has reached end-of-life. It's only a good choice for maintaining legacy projects, not for new development.

Why this product is good

  • Provides native AngularJS directives for Bootstrap 3 components without requiring jQuery
  • Lightweight and modular, letting you include only the directives you need
  • Well-documented with clear examples for common UI components like modals, tooltips, popovers, datepickers, and typeahead
  • Was widely adopted and battle-tested within the AngularJS 1.x ecosystem
  • Integrates cleanly with Angular's digest cycle and data-binding model

Recommended for

  • Teams maintaining existing legacy AngularJS 1.x applications that already use Bootstrap 3
  • Projects that need jQuery-free Bootstrap components within an AngularJS codebase
  • Developers looking for a proven directive library for older Angular apps that cannot be immediately migrated

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing ExcelBites.app and AngularStrap.

What makes your product unique?

ExcelBites.app's answer

Most Excel learning resources teach you SUM and VLOOKUP. That's useless if your Excel is set to Swedish and the function is actually called SUMMA. ExcelBites is built around fixing that. The app fully supports Swedish, Norwegian Bokmรฅl, Danish, and English with the real localized function names. A Swedish user learns SUMMA and LETARAD. A Norwegian learns SUMMER and FINN.RAD. The format is short, gamified lessons with XP and streaks, kind of like Duolingo but for spreadsheet formulas.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

ExcelBites.app's answer

Three reasons. It's the only Excel trainer I know of that fully supports Nordic languages with the real local function names. Lessons are 5 minutes, so it fits into a daily habit instead of a weekend study session. And it's free, no signup, no personal data leaving your browser.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

ExcelBites.app's answer

Beginner to intermediate Excel users in Sweden, Norway, and Denmark who find that English tutorials don't match their interface. Also students, junior accountants, and office workers who want to build Excel skills slowly instead of committing to a full course.

What's the story behind your product?

ExcelBites.app's answer

Solo side project. I kept hitting the same wall: I'd find a great Excel tutorial, try to follow along, and realize the function name in the video doesn't exist in my Swedish Excel. ExcelBites started as a small experiment to see if a Duolingo-style format could work for Excel formulas. It grew into 45 lessons across four languages.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

ExcelBites.app's answer

Vite, React, TypeScript, Tailwind, Zustand for state, React Router, Framer Motion. Supabase handles the multiplayer race feature. Hosted on Vercel. PWA with offline support via Workbox.

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

ExcelBites.app's answer

ExcelBites is consumer focused and free. The current users are individual learners across Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and the English-speaking world. No enterprise customers yet, but interested in talking to companies that want to onboard staff in their native language. Reach out via the site if that's you.
