Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing EveryPage and FactorPage.

What makes your product unique?

EveryPage's answer

EveryPage does two things that usually come from separate products: it turns a PDF into a genuinely nice reading experience - a plain viewer, a page-turning flipbook, a magazine spread, or a swipeable story - and it tells you exactly how that document was read, page by page. You see who opened it, how far they got, how long they spent on each page, and who came back.

The unusual part is that it does the analytics without surveilling anyone. EveryPage never stores a reader's IP address; readers get pseudonymous identities derived through a salted hash instead. Files are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM, and every link can be passcode-protected, watermarked, limited to a page range, set to expire (or never to), or gated behind an email form that turns readers into leads. It's operated from the UK, and pricing is flat per account rather than per seat.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

EveryPage's answer

  • Backend: Go (Chi router, sqlc) on PostgreSQL 16
  • Frontend: Vue 3 with Vite, prerendered to static HTML via vite-ssg, styled with Tailwind CSS
  • PDF rendering and processing: pdf.js in the browser, pdfcpu server-side
  • Security: AES-256-GCM encryption at rest with per-user keys
  • Infrastructure: Docker, Apache, Cloudflare
  • Services: Stripe for billing, Resend for email, and self-hosted Plausible for our own site analytics - cookieless, so the site needs no consent banner

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

EveryPage's answer

Most tools in this space pick one half of the problem. Document-tracking products give you analytics but a forgettable viewer, and usually charge per user. Flipbook products give you a beautiful reader but little idea of whether anyone read it. EveryPage is both halves in one link.

Three practical reasons to pick it:

  • Flat pricing per account, not per seat โ€” Basic is $9/month and Pro is $29/month, with a free tier that needs no credit card. Adding colleagues doesn't multiply the bill.
  • A privacy stance that survives a procurement review: no reader IPs stored at all, encryption at rest, and a UK operating base. That matters if your readers are in the EU or UK.
  • Control over the link after you've sent it. Swap the PDF behind a live link without breaking it, mint per-recipient links so you can see which recipient actually read, share only a page range, revoke access, or set the link never to expire.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

EveryPage's answer

People who send documents that matter and need to know what happened next.

Consultants, agencies, and founders sending proposals, pitch decks, and reports, where knowing that a prospect reread the pricing page changes your follow-up. Sales teams who want per-recipient tracking without a full sales-enablement platform. Marketers and publishers sharing catalogues, lookbooks, and reports, who want the flipbook presentation and the readership data together.

It skews toward small teams and independents rather than enterprises - the flat pricing and the no-account-needed free tier are built for that - and toward privacy-conscious buyers in the UK and EU.

What's the story behind your product?

EveryPage's answer

EveryPage started life as a straightforward encrypted PDF sharing tool. The analytics were the part people actually came back for: not just "was it downloaded", but which pages held attention and which got skipped.

That became the whole product: every page, accounted for. The privacy design came from the same place - you shouldn't have to log people's IP addresses to learn whether your document landed.
