Sicada runs entirely in a web browser, so the same free plan works on any phone, tablet or computer with nothing to download, no dedicated hardware to buy, and no card or contract required to start. Table service is part of the core product rather than a paid add-on — dine-in tabs, QR-code menu ordering and delivery orders are on every plan, with floor-plan sections on the Pro plan. Sales also keep working during an internet outage and sync automatically once the connection returns, and the interface is available in 13 languages, including right-to-left layouts.

Sicada is an independent POS product created to give small shops and cafés a professional point-of-sale system without the usual barriers — no dedicated hardware to buy, no contract, and no cost to get started. It launched in 2025 with a focus on making modern POS tools accessible to independent businesses. The free plan has no time limit, while the paid Pro and Business plans add more tools for growing teams.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

Sicada's interface is a React single-page application built with Vite, and the backend is a Node.js service using Express. It is delivered as a Progressive Web App with a service worker, which allows it to be installed on a device and continue working offline. The optional AI assistant on the Business plan is powered by Anthropic's Claude.
