What makes your product unique?

HostAnywhere's answer:

HostAnywhere is the only mesh networking tool that includes end-to-end encrypted phone backups to your own storage as a built-in feature. Most agents in the category (Tailscale, Netbird, Zerotier) stop at "your devices can talk to each other." HostAnywhere also gives your phone an automatic place to back up Photos, Videos, Contacts, and Calendars — landing on any always-on device you own (NAS, mini-PC, Raspberry Pi). It's one agent that replaces a typical stack of Tailscale + ngrok + iCloud + Immich.

What's the story behind your product?

HostAnywhere's answer:

Built by Naveen, a solo founder, who was tired of running four overlapping tools to do what felt like one job: Tailscale for mesh, Cloudflare Tunnel for public URLs, iCloud for phone backup, Syncthing for file sync. The push from side project to product was the frustration of paying a monthly subscription to send iPhone photos to someone else's servers while having plenty of storage at home. The first release shipped as a single agent across iOS, Android, macOS, Windows, and Linux — same user experience, one account managing all of it.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

HostAnywhere's answer:

Three reasons:

  • Consolidation. Mesh networking, reverse tunnels (public URLs to localhost), VPN and internet gateway routing, and phone backup are all in one agent — not four separate stacks to install, secure, and maintain.
  • Data sovereignty. Phone photos go straight to your storage device over WireGuard, encrypted with a key held on your phone. HostAnywhere's servers never see the bytes — only sha-256 hashes for deduplication.
  • Enterprise access control on the Developer tier. Posture-gated rules with CrowdStrike Falcon and Microsoft Intune integration are available from $9/month — features that typically require enterprise-priced contracts elsewhere.
