Emailens was created by Philippe Kam, a software engineer focused on developer productivity and web standards.

In modern web development, engineers enjoy instant hot module reloading (HMR), modern CSS Grid, and automated testing suites. Yet when writing HTML emails, developers are suddenly transported back to 2007: fighting Microsoft Word's rendering engine in desktop Outlook, arbitrary 102KB clipping in Gmail, and manually coding VML ghost tables.

The common testing loop was frustratingly slow: paste HTML into a legacy testing tool, wait over a minute for a screenshot farm to render, squint at images, fix a CSS rule, wait again, or email coworkers who had Outlook installed.

Emailens was founded to treat email as modern code: an open-source AST transformation engine that simulates email client behavior in milliseconds, diagnoses root causes directly, and brings email QA into the developer's local loop, CI pipeline, and AI agent toolchain.
