EmailEngine is an email client for apps. IMAP and SMTP are hard, so let EmailEngine handle these for you. Run REST API calls to interact with email servers and receive webhooks for changes on tracked email accounts.

With EmailEngine, you can focus on building features that matter instead of spending time rolling custom IMAP and SMTP connectivity logic.

  1. unfortunately the best current option

basically all items on throne's shop are price gouged and/or low quality. the site has significant login issues and link previews do not appear as intended. cashout is very slow at first, then usually changes to 3-5 days after you complain enough to customer service. if you need your money on time and on the date originally promised, throne is not your friend. it seems that they exist to circumvent a lot of issues with other payment methods especially for freelancers, but it does not make sense how long they tend to hold the money for, and they are definitely doing this to maintain higher levels of cash liquidity at the expense of the customer and vendor. this doesnt even happen with just one company, it happens twice. once we go through stripe, and possibly again from our bank. it seems that if we are looking for a service that provides an online wallet, it should function as a wallet and not have so many delays due to passing through so many hands. if there is any issue with a payment, im forced to log into both stripe and throne to figure out which site is causing the problem, and potentially wait on hold for both companies in order for them to simply identify an obvious problem and do the one thing they are supposed to do : send the payment.

    Competitors: WishTender
Cons:    High fees for buyers|Slow cashout|Money passes through multiple companies|Login problems|Links dont display correctly|Posts on your social media without asking|Long, complicated setup for no reason

  • Bichon: A lightweight, high-performance Rust email archiver with WebUI
Here is a very similar project: https://emailengine.app/ Similar to Bichon, it also has a commercial license[1]: > EmailEngine is not free open-source software. It is "source available" software, meaning you can view and copy the source code, but you need a paid subscription[2] to run it beyond the free 14-day trial. Each EmailEngine instance comes with this trial, so you can test EmailEngine without any... - Source: Hacker News / 8 months ago
  • Show HN: Sunnybox – An Email API for Effortless IMAP Integration
When I started with https://emailengine.app, a similar product, I also considered releasing it as a SaaS. But looking at the competition, it seemed too complicated for me (just look at the compliance list for Nylas Email API https://www.nylas.com/security/#compliance ). Will be interesting to see how it works out for you. Good luck! - Source: Hacker News / over 2 years ago
  • Mike Perham of Sidekiq: “If you build something valuable, charge money for it.”
Oh, yeah, I forgot my pitch. The link is https://emailengine.app - EnailEngine acts as a mail client, basically the same way Thunderbird runs on desktop, or the iPhone Mail on phone, but instead of a GUI it has REST API and instead of desktop notifications it sends JSON webhooks. And instead of a single email account, it can manage thousands of accounts. - Source: Hacker News / over 3 years ago
  • Email: Explained from First Principles
Well, I for one, hope that email stays as complicated as described in the post. Otherwise my project that simplifies access to email accounts (https://emailengine.app) would get no traction :D. - Source: Hacker News / over 3 years ago
  • Professional / enterprise experience with EmailEngine?
I'd like to know if anyone here can share some experience using https://emailengine.app in a larger environment, e.g. Managing / watching 100-200 email accounts and processing ~50.000-100.000 mails per day? Source: over 3 years ago
