Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Elevate and Benchmento.

What makes your product unique?

Benchmento's answer:

No account, and the score never leaves the device. The familiar reflex and memory tests are here, plus originals like Split Test that you cannot get on the usual clone pages.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Benchmento's answer:

If you want the number without creating an account, this is the version that does that. Hardware still matters, so the useful comparison is you against your last runs, not a leaderboard that exists to collect emails.

What's the story behind your product?

Benchmento's answer:

The usual tests asked for an account to save a number that has no reason to sit on a server. Benchmento runs the same measurements in the browser and keeps the history in local storage. Split Test and the dailies came after the core suite.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Benchmento's answer:

People who search for a reaction-time test, a CPS test, a spacebar test, or the chimp task and want to run it immediately. Gamers checking click speed. Anyone who bounced off a signup wall on the older sites.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

Benchmento's answer:

Client-side JavaScript in the browser. Scores in localStorage. A PWA so it can sit on a phone home screen. No backend for accounts.

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

Benchmento's answer:

  • Individual players on their own devices
  • No company accounts. There is nothing to log into.
