You might want to try https://easyengine.io. You can install it on any unmanaged VPS you can get your hands on, and you can run it locally if you want to do some local development too. Itโs basically a turnkey Wordpress stack and comes with some nice features like server side caching (full page caching + object caching - which caches stuff from the database in RAM - both backed by redis which it sets up for you too). I use Forklift instead : https://binarynights.com/ I can use it as an orthodox file manager. I also like using it to access remote filesystems over nfs and sftp, and also S3 buckets. It also works well with Dropbox and iCloud. There is a great sync feature to keep source and target directories synchronised. It's also good for diffing directories at a glance. Plus the regex file rename feature is often handy for me... - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago

Not perfect, but soooo much better than the horrific experience that is... - Source: Hacker News / about 2 years ago
Forklift (https://binarynights.com/) and Path Finder (https://www.cocoatech.io/) are the two big ones I think. - Source: Hacker News / over 2 years ago
