Features and specs

What each product offers, as listed by its team.

DynastyTradeValues 5 features
Modular JavaScript 5 features
  • Free to Use
The platform provides dynasty fantasy football trade values and rankings without requiring payment, making it accessible to all fantasy managers looking to evaluate trades.
  • Regularly Updated Values
Player values are updated frequently based on performance, news, and market trends, helping users make more informed trade decisions with current data.
  • Customizable Trade Calculator
Users can input specific trade scenarios involving multiple players and picks to quickly see a comparative value analysis, which simplifies decision-making during negotiations.
  • Includes Rookie Picks and Player Values
The site accounts for both veteran players and future draft picks, giving a more complete picture of trade value in dynasty formats where picks carry significant weight.
  • User-Friendly Interface
The website is generally simple to navigate, allowing even less experienced fantasy players to quickly look up values and compare assets without a steep learning curve.
  • Improved Code Organization
Modular JavaScript allows developers to break down code into smaller, manageable modules. This enhances code readability and maintainability by organizing related functionality together.
  • Code Reusability
Modules encourage reusability by allowing the same piece of code to be used across different projects or multiple areas of the same application, reducing redundancy.
  • Scalability
As the application grows, managing code becomes easier with modular JavaScript. Each module can be developed, tested, and maintained independently, making the codebase more scalable.
  • Encapsulation
Modules provide encapsulation, preventing variables and functions from polluting the global namespace. This reduces the risk of naming conflicts and bugs.
  • Improved Testing
With code organized into discrete modules, writing unit tests becomes more straightforward. Each module can be tested individually, leading to more reliable and maintainable tests.

Possible disadvantages

  • Increased Complexity
Introducing modularity can add complexity to the build process, as it often requires module loaders or bundlers (like Webpack or Browserify) to manage dependencies.
  • Overhead
For smaller projects, using a modular approach might be overkill, introducing unnecessary overhead in terms of setup, configuration, and code management.
  • Learning Curve
Developers unfamiliar with modular JavaScript may face a learning curve, especially when dealing with module patterns, loaders, and bundlers.
  • Dependency Management
Relying on multiple modules can lead to complex dependency chains, making it challenging to track and resolve dependencies across different modules.
  • Performance Overhead
Modular JavaScript can introduce performance overhead if not managed properly, such as loading many small modules individually, leading to increased HTTP requests.

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing DynastyTradeValues and Modular JavaScript.

What makes your product unique?

DynastyTradeValues's answer

DynastyTradeValues uses a purely algorithmic model, computed from ADP (average draft position), age, and position, run through a consistent formula that updates automatically. Unlike crowdsourced tools where values shift with community voting or hype, the same inputs always produce the same output here. It's the only tool built around an original round/slot/years-out formula for draft pick values too, not just players. It supports both 1QB and Superflex formats, requires no account or login, and is completely free to use.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

DynastyTradeValues's answer

WordPress with a custom-built PHP plugin, a custom MySQL database for player/pick values, and a REST API powering the frontend. Player biographical data comes from Sleeper's public API; trade values are computed from an original algorithmic formula, not sourced from any third party.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

DynastyTradeValues's answer

Dynasty fantasy football league managers who need to evaluate trades involving players and draft picks. This includes managers actively negotiating trades, those doing pre-draft or offseason roster planning, and anyone comparing their team's value against the rest of their league.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

DynastyTradeValues's answer

DynastyTradeValues uses a purely algorithmic model, computed from ADP (average draft position), age, and position, run through a consistent formula that updates automatically. Unlike crowdsourced tools where values shift with community voting or hype, the same inputs always produce the same output here. It's the only tool built around an original round/slot/years-out formula for draft pick values too, not just players. It supports both 1QB and Superflex formats, requires no account or login, and is completely free to use.

What's the story behind your product?

DynastyTradeValues's answer

DynastyTradeValues was built to give dynasty managers a values source that doesn't move with hype or crowd sentiment. Most existing tools rely on community voting, which can be fast to react but easy to sway by a single hyped name. This site takes the opposite approach: a fixed, transparent formula applied consistently to every player and pick.

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

DynastyTradeValues's answer

DynastyTradeValues is a free public tool without named enterprise customers — it's used directly by individual dynasty fantasy football managers across leagues of all sizes.
