Dummy Database is built to solve a simple, yet annoying problem — generating realistic test datasets quickly, without writing scripts or juggling Excel files.
It’s designed for: - Developers needing dummy databases for prototyping & testing. - Analysts and BI specialists preparing demo dashboards. - QA engineers creating data scenarios for testing. - SQL learners who want practice datasets on demand.
What makes it special? - Create from simple tables to full relational databases with PK/FK. - 35+ data types including Numbers, Dates, Names, Booleans, etc. - Unique Event Sequences — simulate user actions and workflows. - Advanced data controls — outliers, nulls, repeats, distributions. - ERD visualization to map relationships. - Built-in PostgreSQL editor to query generated data. - Export as CSV, XLSX, SQL DDL, or full ZIP. - Free up to 10,000 records per table for registered users — no paywalls or limits.
DUMMY DATABASE
SettiloDUMMY DATABASE's answer
A free, all-in-one data generation platform that builds everything from simple tables to full relational databases with advanced controls, unique event sequences, ERD visualization, built-in SQL querying, and multiple export formats — no limits, no paywalls.
Settilo's answer:
Settilo analyzes the neighborhood, not the listing. While most real estate platforms focus on property details, Settilo surfaces the data that surrounds it — crime trends over time, school quality at the attendance-zone level, local economic trajectory, and housing value trends — pulled from authoritative public sources and presented in one place.
DUMMY DATABASE's answer
Unlike other data generators, DUMMY DATABASE gives you full relational database creation, unique event simulations, advanced control over every field, built-in SQL querying, and generous free limits — so you can go from idea to test-ready data without restrictions, subscriptions, or hidden fees
Settilo's answer:
Settilo is built exclusively for buyers, with no listing revenue, no agent relationships, and no incentive to obscure unfavorable data. Competitors l target institutional and B2B customers at $125–400/month. Settilo makes the same depth of neighborhood intelligence accessible to individual buyers at a consumer price point, with a comparison interface built around the actual decision: which neighborhood fits my priorities.
DUMMY DATABASE's answer
Settilo's answer:
Analysis-first home buyers — people relocating to an unfamiliar city, first-time buyers doing serious research, and anyone who wants to understand a neighborhood before committing to it. They're data-literate, often comparing 3–5 areas simultaneously, and frustrated by how scattered the relevant information is across government databases.
DUMMY DATABASE's answer
Began as a project for myself to be able to have custom datasets for testing purpose I've decided that it could be useful for wider audience and finalized it as a full-stack web project
Settilo's answer:
Settilo was built by a team that went through the home-buying process and noticed that every useful data point required a different government website, inconsistent formats, and hours of manual work. The property data was easy to find. The neighborhood data — the part that determines long-term quality of life — wasn't. Settilo launched in March 2026 to fix that.
DUMMY DATABASE's answer
Python, Flask, HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, Redis, PostgreSQL, JavaScript
Settilo's answer:
Next.js, PostgreSQL with PostGIS for geospatial queries, US Census Bureau data (ACS), FBI UCR crime data, GreatSchools API, and Mapbox for geographic visualization.
