Single PHP file uploaded over FTP, no SSH access or DevOps team required
  • Backend stack
    Go + Redis
  • Data residency
    Self-hosted on infrastructure you choose, e.g. Poland/EU

  • Pricing model
Fixed monthly fee per dedicated instance, no per-visitor billing, no free tier
  • API
REST API for queue join, status, branding, configuration, licensing
  • Simplified Git Interface
CommitCat aims to provide a user-friendly graphical interface for Git, making version control more accessible to developers who may find the command line intimidating or cumbersome.
  • Free and Open Source
CommitCat is offered as a free tool, lowering the barrier to entry for individuals and small teams who need a Git client without the cost associated with some commercial alternatives.
  • Cross-Platform Support
CommitCat is designed to work across multiple operating systems, allowing developers on different platforms to use the same familiar tool for their version control needs.
  • Beginner-Friendly
The tool is positioned to help newcomers to Git and version control by providing a more visual and intuitive way to manage repositories, commits, and branches without needing deep command-line expertise.
  • Lightweight Application
CommitCat is designed to be a lightweight Git client that doesn't consume excessive system resources, making it suitable for developers who prefer a lean, fast tool over feature-heavy alternatives.

Possible disadvantages

  • Limited Feature Set
Compared to more established Git clients like GitKraken, Sourcetree, or Fork, CommitCat may lack advanced features such as built-in merge conflict resolution tools, advanced branch visualization, or deep integration with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Small Community and Ecosystem
As a lesser-known tool, CommitCat has a smaller user community, which means fewer tutorials, community-driven plugins, and peer support compared to mainstream Git clients.
  • Limited Visibility and Traction
CommitCat appears to have limited online presence and user reviews, making it difficult for potential users to assess its reliability, maturity, and long-term viability before adopting it.
  • Uncertain Development Activity
It is unclear how actively CommitCat is being maintained and developed. A tool with infrequent updates may fall behind in compatibility with newer Git features or operating system updates.
  • Lack of Enterprise Features
CommitCat may not offer enterprise-grade features such as team collaboration tools, access control integrations, or support for large-scale repository management that organizations often require.

Recommended for

  • Developers or teams willing to experiment with lesser-known or early-stage tools
  • Startups or indie hackers looking for niche commit-related utilities
  • Users who prioritize trying new tools over established, well-reviewed alternatives
  • Not recommended for enterprises or teams needing proven, well-supported solutions with strong community backing

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing DropReady and CommitCat.

What makes your product unique?

DropReady's answer

Each client gets a dedicated, isolated instance instead of shared multi-tenant infrastructure - real control over data residency (e.g. EU/Poland hosting). Integration is a single PHP file, not a platform-specific plugin, so it works anywhere PHP runs without requiring a specific CDN, DNS setup, or Shopify Plus plan.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

DropReady's answer

Queue-it and Cloudflare Waiting Room are global multi-tenant SaaS platforms. DropReady is built for teams that want a dedicated instance, no platform lock-in, and a simple one-file integration they can set up over FTP without a DevOps team - at the cost of not being a self-service five-minute setup.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

DropReady's answer

Small and mid-sized e-commerce stores (PrestaShop, WooCommerce, Magento, custom Laravel/PHP) with seasonal or one-off traffic spikes - drops, limited releases, ticket sales, Black Friday - not enterprises with their own DevOps team or already running Cloudflare Enterprise.

What's the story behind your product?

DropReady's answer

Built after seeing stores go down during drops - traffic that's fine on average but spikes far past what the server can handle for a few minutes. Built solo in Go + Redis, load-tested on a real client's budget production VPS rather than idealized benchmarks, and developed in public with real bugs and real numbers published on the blog.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

DropReady's answer

Go, Redis, Ed25519 token signing, REST API. Deployed behind Cloudflare/Cloudflare Tunnel and nginx in production.
