So I started designing the DB using this cool tool. The project has 2 tables, users and categories . The user can create many categories as he wants so the first approach I took was creating a third table, a union table to store user_id and category_id. To be honest, since you are just getting started, I think you should reconsider simplifying this app to begin with. Built something easier and get some more experience before jumping in the ocean. Maybe start by focusing only on the parent company and sub-companies. There are some tools that claim to automate this process like Mixo (https://mixo.io) and Durable (https://durable.co), but they seem to have fixed layout where only colors change so I can't use it as a "design inspiration", therefore I don't see any existential threat for UI as a profession here. There are a lot of apps that use a base template and inject content based on prompt into the template. See mixo.io. This also uses a base template , I can replicate this functionality within like a day. But that's not what I am trying to achieve, this is very limited as it is using a template.
