Prefire is a free browser extension that prepares you for a FACEIT Counter-Strike 2 match before it starts. When the match room opens, Prefire pulls each opponent's public match history and demos, then shows it where you actually need it: last-30 stats, recent form, account age, country, team...

As answered by people managing Dotabuff and FACEIT Prefire.
FACEIT Prefire's answer:
Most FACEIT tools tell you how good your opponent is. Prefire tells you how they play.
When the match room loads, Prefire pulls each opponent's public demos and replays their past rounds on an interactive tactical map: the paths they actually walked, the grenades they actually threw with full trajectories, a timeline you can scrub, and CT/T heatmaps of where they hold and where they take opening duels.
Two things make that unusual:
It is free, it reads only finished public matches, and it never touches the game client.
FACEIT Prefire's answer:
Prefire does a different job than most of the tools it sits next to:
The short version: if you want prematch scouting without a subscription and without a five step routine before every game, that is the gap Prefire fills.
FACEIT Prefire's answer:
Competitive Counter-Strike 2 players on FACEIT who care about winning the match, not just tracking their rating.
In practice that means:
The interface is available in English and Russian. Demo based features currently cover Mirage, while stats, form, bans and team ELO work on every map.
FACEIT Prefire's answer:
Prefire started as a tool I built for myself.
Professional teams prepare for opponents by watching their demos. Everyone else queues blind, loses to the same off-angle three times in a row, and calls it bad luck. The gap is not skill, it is preparation time.
So I wrote a parser that pulled public FACEIT demos and drew where players had actually been standing. It was a local script before it was anything else. The useful part turned out not to be the statistics but the picture: once you see five rounds of someone's movement on a map, the pattern is obvious in seconds.
That became a browser extension so the picture appears where the decision gets made, in the match room itself. It went public on the Chrome Web Store in August 2026 and is in open beta now: free, no paid tier, source on GitHub, map coverage expanding from Mirage outward.
Prefire is developed independently and is not officially endorsed by or affiliated with FACEIT.
FACEIT Prefire's answer:
Extension (browser) - TypeScript 5.7 on Manifest V3 - Vite 6 with @crxjs/vite-plugin for the build - No UI framework. The only runtime dependency is @sentry/browser, so the extension injects a minimal bundle into faceit.com rather than a framework - Canvas based tactical replay player, embedded as a reusable iframe - Vitest with happy-dom for the test suite
Backend (API and analysis) - Python 3.12 with FastAPI and Uvicorn - PostgreSQL through SQLAlchemy 2.0 and psycopg3, migrations via Alembic - Pydantic v2 for validation, slowapi for rate limiting, cachetools for the hot public paths - awpy 2.x with zstandard for demo parsing, numpy for the positional maths - httpx and Playwright for data collection
Infrastructure - Docker multi stage builds on a VPS behind Caddy for TLS - PostgreSQL backups with pgBackRest, point in time recovery tested with a restore drill - Static landing page on Cloudflare Pages - Sentry on both sides, plus a separate telemetry service
Quality - ruff, black and mypy in the toolchain, pip-audit on dependencies
FACEIT Prefire's answer:
Prefire is in free open app and has no commercial customers yet. It is used by individual FACEIT Counter-Strike 2 players and by a few small teams and mixes preparing for their own matches.
