Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Divemates.app and GitHub Codespaces.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Divemates.app's answer

Most dive logs only record a dive after it happens, and dive site information is scattered across forums and outdated pages no one can vouch for. Divemates replaces that guesswork with one trusted source: a searchable global catalog of nearly 10,000 dive sites, over 16,000 dive shops, and nearly 12,000 marine species, with recent sighting data and a modern log built for how divers actually plan and remember trips. Marine life data is attributed to the World Register of Marine Species, so it is sourced, not crowd guessed.

What's the story behind your product?

Divemates.app's answer

Divemates was built by David Elsonbaty, a passionate diver tired of planning every trip the hard way: hours of googling, scattered forums, and answers no one could vouch for. He wanted one place with real data, real stats, and the encounters people actually had, so he could know what had been sighted lately, and where, before he ever booked a trip. That place did not exist, so he built it. Never dive alone.

What makes your product unique?

Divemates.app's answer

Divemates is the only app that pairs a full dive log with a worldwide, data driven discovery catalog in one place. Every dive site, dive shop, and marine species comes with real structured data (depth, conditions, and what divers have been sighting lately), so you can plan where to go and what you will see, then log the dive and keep the memory. Most tools do one or the other; Divemates unifies discovery, planning, and logging.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Divemates.app's answer

Recreational scuba divers who travel to dive, from newly certified divers planning their first trips to seasoned divers logging hundreds of dives. It also serves the professionals who guide them (instructors and divemasters) and the dive shops that run the trips. The core user is a diver who wants to know where to dive, what they will see, and to remember every dive.

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

Divemates.app's answer

Divemates is built for recreational scuba divers, dive instructors and divemasters, dive shops and dive operators, dive travelers and trip planners.
